There were no words to describe how much I valued my friendship with Gabi. Ever since I met her at 12 years old I could not remember a single moment that she was not there for me. I knew that if it came down to it, she would kill someone and hide their body with me. Friendships were not built like ours nowadays. At the end of the day it is always the one your mother was suspicious of you being a lesbian with at one point in time.
Loyalty was something that seemed to been losing its' true meaning. We did not live in times people fought for long lasting relationships, people were disposable. At the first minor problem there was the tendency of leaving and move on to someone else, this not only applying to relationships of romantic nature. I knew it was important to leave situations when they were not suitable for you, I had learned my lesson the hard way. However, I appreciated the fact that Gabi had never given up on me. She kept herself present even when I had lost myself, even when I forgot what my essence as a human being was. If there was something I was certain is that we would grow old together.
I spent the whole afternoon tending to her. Making sure she cried when she had to cry, letting her curse whatever she needed to let out her chest, never once judging her. Although they were not together for long, I knew my best friend had grown feelings for this man and heartbreak hurt like a bitch. As far as I was concerned, she would never feel less because of a man. I made sure she was aware that she was going to achieve great things in life and that this little bump on the road wouldn't feel like more than a simple comma in her story.
