Sam and I watch as Dean angrily hangs up the phone. "They've got dad." Dean says before we could say anything.
"Who has your dad? I ask.
"Meg." Dean replies.
"Meg? What'd she say?"
"I just told you, Sammy." Dean remarked harshly. He grabs the Colt and shoves it in his waistband and tells Sam and I that we have to leave.
"Why?" Sam asked.
"Because the demon knows we're in Salvation, alright. It knows we got the Colt. It's got Dad and it's probably coming for us next." Dean answered while putting on his jacket.
"Good. We've still got three bullets left. Let it come." Sam replied confidently.
"Listen, tough guy, we're not ready, okay? We're just two guys and a kid. We don't know how many of them are out there. We're no good to anybody dead. We're leaving now." Dean said in an impatient tone. We peel out in the Impala, skidding in the dust, Dean and Sam are still arguing about whether we should have tried to confront the demon, or whether we could try to trade the Colt for their father. Sam is focused on killing the demon at any cost, Dean is not, and I'm somewhere in between.
"I'm telling you, Dean, we could have taken him." Sam said with a huff.
"What we need is a plan. Now, they're probably keeping Dad alive, we just gotta figure out where. They're gonna wanna trade him for the gun." Sam shakes his head while Dean glances over at him. "What?"
"Dean, if that were true, why didn't Meg mention a trade? Dad, he might be...." Sam went on but we didn't have to hear the end of his sentence to know what he was talking about."Look, I don't want to believe it any more than you. But if he is, all the more reason to kill this damn thing. We still have the Colt. We can still finish the job."
"Screw the job, Sam!"
"Dean, I'm just trying to do what he would want. He would want us to keep going."
"Quit talking about him like he's dead already. Listen to me, everything stops until we get him back, you understand me? Everything." Dean tells Sam angrily.
Sam pauses to think. "So, how do we find him?"
"Maybe we go to Lincoln. Start at the warehouse where he was taken." Dean suggests.
"Come on, Dean, you really think these demons are going to leave a trail?" I say, trying to be the smart one in this situation.
Dean pauses. "You're right. We need help." Early into the day, The Impala drives onto a junkyard. There are junk cars around and hubcaps nailed to the side of a dark gray two story house. A large dog is chained to a post and is lying on the hood of an old tow truck. When we go inside, there are books stacked everywhere. It's untidy and cluttered with papers on every wall. Then we see a man tidying some old books up in the living room. The man has brown graying short hair and a beard. He's wearing a gray baseball cap. He looks six feet and has a typical alcoholic body type, he is a little round but well built. The man picks up two round silver flasks with crosses on them and hands one to Dean. Sam is sitting at a cluttered desk reading a very large book.
"Holy water?" Dean asks the man.
"That one is,'' the man said, then he held out the other flask, "This one's whiskey." He takes a swig of whiskey and hands it to Dean, who also drinks.
"Bobby, thanks. Thanks for everything." Dean said to the man. Bobby then turns to me.
"And who might you be?" He inquires.
"I'm Toralei Argent." I say.
"I'm assuming by your last name you're a hunter, right?" I nod at his question. "Well it's nice to meet you, kid." Dean then says he wasn't sure if we could come, but Bobby confirms that it was the right call. "Nonsense. Your daddy needs help."
"Yeah, but last time we saw you, I mean, you did threaten to blast him full of buckshot. Cocked the shotgun and everything." Dean explains.
"What can I say? John has that effect on people." Bobby answers. "None of that matters now. All that matters is we get him back." Meanwhile, Sam continues to dig into Bobby's books of 'the lore' and is impressed, saying he's never seen anything like it. Bobby tells us about how to trap a demon in what he calls a 'Satanic roach motel'. He also warns us that what's happening is big, that in a normal year there would be a few demonic possessions, but this year there have been twenty seven so far. "This is serious shit you guys stepped in. More and more demons are walking among us. Storm's coming and you guys, your daddy? You're smack in the middle of it." The dog barks outside and then is quiet, and when Bobby looks out the window, it's just his chain lying there. "Something's wrong." And he's right. At that moment Meg kicks in the door and saunters in.
