Eggman and Shadow continue to look at Surge as she stands over Metal Sonic's defeated body.
Surge: You were pretty tough, but in the end, I still win!
Shadow: Looks like you've managed to take out the trash. Nice work.
Surge turns around and is happy.
Surge: [smiles] Shadow! You left us so fast I almost completely forgot about you! So, this is where you've been!
Eggman: Darn you! How dare you brutalize my Metal Sonic!
Surge turns around to Eggman and starts to get furious.
Surge: It's you!! Tell me where Kit is now, and I'll make it quick and painless, four eyes!
Eggman: You worm! It looks like I'll have to teach you some manners!
Shadow: Careful, Surge! That thing he's in is fused with one of the Chaos Emeralds! He's using it to absorb not just Chaos energy, but any attack into his own Chaos energy!
Surge: What?
Surge thinks to herself.
Surge: [Speaking of Chaos energy, I do see a Chaos Emerald in his core.]
Eggman: [smiles] That's right, you're not in any position to make any demands of me, tenrec. But I am surprised that you already know I can absorb more than just Chaos energy, Shadow!
Shadow: Actually, I didn't know, but now you've confirmed it for me yourself.
Eggman: Huh!?
Shadow: That mech would be useless if you could only absorb Chaos energy.
Eggman: Grr! Well, at least you're still aware of my brilliance.
Shadow: I would also assume attacks that aren't powered by Chaos energy would be less effective when absorbing it as your own power.
Eggman: Oh, is that so?
Shadow: We'll just have to put it to the test.
Shadow uses Chaos Control to teleport to Surge.
Surge: Ah! What the heck, Shadow!?
Shadow: Quiet, I'm going to give you an opening. Watch closely, I'm counting on you.
Surge, understanding the situation, nods her head. Shadow then teleports to Eggman.
Shadow: [smiles] Over here, doctor!
Eggman: Don't test me!
Eggman goes for a punch with his suit, but Shadow teleports away again. Eggman expects him to teleport somewhere else, but seconds go by, and Shadow is nowhere to be seen.
Eggman: Where did that ingrate run off to!?
Eggman continues to look for where Shadow may appear next, but suddenly an electric spin dash from Surge comes knocking Eggman back through two walls.
Eggman: Gaah!
Shadow then teleports back to Surge as she lands on her feet.
Shadow: Good! As I assumed, attacks that aren't powered by Chaos energy have less of an effect on his absorption.
Surge: Yeah, but that means attacks from you are more effective, so what's your plan?
