You know how almost anywhere you go on Wattpad you see fanfiction of boy bands everywhere?!
Wattpad is officially being overtaken by popular bands.
*cough* *cough* OneDirectionand *cough* FiveSecondsOfSummer *cough*
Sorry, I really need to get this cough checked out.
Seriously, no matter what, you are going to run into a ton of fanfiction of those really popular bands that most basic girls pretend to like in order to be popular.
Most commonly:
One erection
And
5sux
I really don't have much against most popular bands other than them being extremely and annoyingly popular. If anything, I hate a good 98% of the fanbase and not so much the actual band.
What's worse is that 90% of the freaking fanbase likes them because:
1. They think the band members are hot.
2. Because everyone else does.
3. Because they want to look cool
4. Because they are idiots
5. All of the above
And they most likely don't give a single crap about their music, or even know any songs other than the super mainstream ones that are played on the radio every three seconds.
It really annoys me when I can't find any stories because I have to sift through a billion band fanfictions. I really wish there was a section only for band fanfiction and you wouldn't be able to find them anywhere else on Wattpad but that section.
Why out of everything else that exists, almost every single person writes nothing but popular band fanfiction? I mean, I understand really liking something enough to want to write a billion books about it, but geez I wish they weren't everywhere.
I really hate it when people join only for the purpose of reading band fanfiction and refuse to read anything else. This is Wattpad not Bandfanfictionforbasicpeople.com.
There are some fanfics on here than get published into actual books.
And most of the time they suck.
It usually doesn't matter how much these stories suck, they still get a ton of support just because of the fact that it has [insert popular band here] in it.
Not to mention, most of the fanfics are pretty much the exact same.
Everyone can read and write what they want on Wattpad, but please chill out with all the band fanfiction.
