"Guess who has a date for homecoming!"

Connor felt his heart sink into his stomach at the sound of Alex's cheerful voice as she walked into his room with a big smile. "Wait who!" Zoe seemed to magically appear at Alex's side in the doorway. "Kyle Samson asked me today during history!" She smiled, Connor rolled his eyes and grabbed a fresh cigarette.

He cracked his window open and stuck the cigarette in his mouth, lighting the other end and sucking in the chemicals. "He's a little bitch boy..." He muttered, Alex rolled her eyes sitting down on the edge of Connors bed. "Please, it's been 7 years." She said, Zoe raised an eyebrow and sat down next to Alex. "7 years since?" She wondered, with a sly smile.

"Please we do not need to go down the street of Connor Murphy's past with bitchy people." He grumbled, shooting the pair a glare. Alex rolled her eyes at his dramatics. "The first day of 5th grade we were given name tags, and Kyle accidentally," Connor interrupted her with a loud fake laugh.

"ACCIDENTALLY, mispronounced Connors name."

"It was not an accident and you know that." He grumbled, Alex had to bite her lip to stop herself from yelling at him. "He apologized thirty times at this point, and you know how bad his dyslexia was at that point." She argued, Connor scoffed. "Right, to the point he said N's as K's?" Connor asked sarcastically, deep down Alex knew he was right and Kyle had used his dyslexia as an excuse. Her silence made him smirk, standing up from his desk chair next to the window with his arms crossed.

Zoe paused then burst into laughter, Connor blushed bright pink and looked away from the pair staring down at the ground covering his embarrassed face with his hair. "Cokkor?" Zoe said through giggled. "Yeah, I had that nickname through all of middle school, not so funny when everyone's yelling that at you on the bus or in the locker rooms." Connor spat, Zoe stopped laughing.

"Again he apologized a trillion times." Alex muttered, Connor scoffed looking at her in the eyes now. "Yeah after we moved to high school." He said, Alex paused and bit her lip nervously. "I'm sorry, but that was over 3 years ago. He's grown up." She shrugged, Connor scoffed again and went back to his desk chair.

Zoe stayed silent, during the pair's passive arguing. Though rare, fights between the two friends had happened over the years. And generally they would end with one of them putting their pride aside and just apologizing. But this fight felt more tense.

Connor knew in his gut that Kyle had grown up and he never brought up the awful nickname when they moved to high school. Causing it to immediately die out after 8th grade. Even in 8th grade, the majority of people had stopped calling him that. Kyle had tried to apologize many times, and Connor had always flipped him off. He knew the real reason he was now bringing up an old hatred for a person he had grown apathetic towards.

"You need to let that middle school stuff go." She muttered, Connor snapped. "Fine, go fuck some bitch boy, be a whore, see if I care." He snarled, Alex felt like she had been punched in the stomach with his words. Zoe had to stop a gasp. "Fuck you Connor." She said quietly, nearly sprinting out of the house. Connor opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.

Zoe glared at her brother, standing up and following after Alex.
