Au: Gay (it'll make sense, please, I promise)
Ship: Javid, a dash of Newsbians and Redfinch
TW: Davey being unnecessarily anxious, and implied homophobiaHey small author's note at the beginning real quick! For this one shot it's the Broadway, but Sarah decided to become a Newsie with her brothers. It's the "Can't you see it in my eyes", "Do I look scared? Ask me again in the morning." Scene. I'm also going to give first person a try. Thanks!

"I say we save any exclusive for a real reporter." I could feel my twin sister glaring bullets into me, she was standing with Buttons and Elmer, and I know that she would put me through the wringer for that comment later, using words that Les shouldn't hear, and that would give our parents a conniption.
"You see anyone else giving you the time of day?" She was right, and I could tell that Jack knew it, and so did I, "All right, so I'm just busting out of the social pages. But you give me the exclusive, let me run with the story, and I promise I'll get you the space."
"You really think we could be in the papes?" Said the newsie who I'm fairly certain is Crutchie, due to his, well, crutch, but names aside, he had a point. Would newspapers really write about literal children? I mean-
"Shut down a paper like The World, and you're gonna make the front page." She said. At this point, Sarah was no longer giving me a death glare, and was now giving me more a look of 'she's right, you know it, take the offer' there was still an 'or else' but I chose to overlook that part for my own sake. I was about to try to talk it out with Jack when he immediately said
"You want a story? Be in front of the circulation gate tomorrow morning and you'll get one. And bring a camera. You're gonna wanna snap a picture of dis!" God he was hot- I MEAN um... I'm not saving myself this time am I? Ok so yes, I might just be a little gay for Jack, but it's not like I would ever do anything about it! And anyway, ignoring that, immediately jumping into something like this is incredibly risky, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Jack.
"Let's go boys, play outside. I gotta set up for dinner. I got paying customers who need the tables." And with that we all headed outside.
"C'mon we got newsies to visit!" Yelled Finch, who I only learned the name of recently, I do not, however, know the name of the red-head he constantly stares at.
"You won't be shooing us off when we gets our mugs in the papers!" Shouted Race, I remember his name since he's Jack's second in command, and a very distinct character. And I also don't understand how getting on the front page changes anything... but I'm just not going to question it.
"Hey Sarah, can you take Les home, tell mom and dad I'll be home in a few minutes," she opened her mouth to speak, and knowing what she was going to ask, I cut her off, "I'm just going to help Jack with the interview." She responded with a look of 'you gay &!?#!%$'. I responded with a look of 'you're one to talk', making a glance at the reporter. 'Screw you David'.
"Come on Les the folks are waiting."
I mouthed a 'thank you' to Sarah, and she just rolled her eyes and kept walking.
She immediately got into her questions, "Have you always been their leader?"
"I'm a blowhard. Davey here's the brains." He said, putting his arm around me and his hand on my shoulder. Oh my god. Is my face as red as it feels. Please, neither of them notice. While my head was spinning with homosexuality I missed something that she said, but I can use context clues, it'll be fine.
