Exam scores were due to come out, and to say I was stressed was an understatement.
I hadn't gotten any of my University applications back- surely they'd reject me if I did poorly, right?
"Nari, you'll be fine," Yunjin's voice said as it rang out from my phone.
But her words weren't enough.I needed to see that I was fine, I had to confirm that I hadn't messed it all up.
I know it may seem like I've been slacking off, but I'm not.
Sure I'm tutoring Jaehyun again, but my mom only agreed to let me if I maintained high grades. You might remember how I had been studying for exams, and how I kind of ignored Jaehyun just so that I did well- and I obviously had to do well.
So because of that, I studied well into the night everyday, all for that stupid recommendation at SNU.Mr. Kim had already confirmed that he chatted with the dean, so there really wasn't any reason to tutor Jaehyun.
I guess I just pitied him... I'm making up for the months I ignored him anyways.
That's definitely why I'm still tutoring him."Yunjin, you are arguably the most stressed person I know. You cannot calm me down right now- this is the one time you actually need to panic," I sighed as I walked through the school gates.
"I am stressed, just not for you. I know you must've done well Nari- the coffee makes you a different creature. You seem to be forgetting that I was the one who left a question blank," Yunjin said.
"...I know, but still, I just don't want to mess up right at the finish line.""When are you going to get to school?" Yunjin asked.
For context, it may have been 6.30, and that also might be the time when the school gates first open.
"Don't tell me you're already there- you promised that you wouldn't look alone!" She borderline screamed into the phone.
"I'm sorry! I won't look alone- I'll find someone else to stand with, then they're looking with me," I said as I slightly pulled my phone away from my ear."No- that doesn't count as looking with someone- that's just you looking alone while someone happens to be in your vicinity."
"Same thing."
"No. Not the same thing at all. Either wait for me or find someone who you actually know. I am not letting a repeat of last year happen again," Yunjin said as I heard her getting out of her bed.Last year I got to school so early that I was waiting outside of the gates.
And I might have started grabbing the janitors and screaming as they put up the results 'I'm first!' to them (which also might have earned me a lecture from the ladies in the front office)."I won't do that again- I promise," I said.
"I know you Nari, you'll just do it to somebody if the Janitors can escape fast enough. Instead of grabbing a stranger I want you to find someone you know- so that you don't get written up. Again. For the 3rd year in a row.""Fine. When will you be here?" I asked as I sat on a bench outside of the school.
"In like twenty minutes."I scoffed and stood back up.
"I am not waiting that long- I've already waited four months! The soccer teams here, maybe I'll go find your boyfriend, Jungwoo," I snickered into my speaker."He is not-" Yunjin started to yell before I hung up on her.
I wasn't going to find Jungwoo, but I certainly was going to find the soccer team.
Jeong Jaehyun! It's one of the few times that he was actually useful.
I then began my walk to the soccer field.
Normally I wouldn't have the guts to actually approach Jaehyun in his natural f-boy habitat, but what could I do?
I had to find out my scores asap!
