Amber POV

*Ocean waves*

*Cool breeze*

The ocean is quiet.

For how long will it take to be this quiet?

"Come out. I know you're in there, grandfather," I said as I glanced at the ocean.

"Grandfather?! You called me grandfather??" he suddenly appeared out of the water in front of me.

"Yes, grandfather," I said as I walked closely to the water.

"Ah! Finally! A grandkid of mine called me grandfather," he said with a teary eye. Then he swam up to the shore to be close to me, and I was so amazed.

His big, shiny, scaley tail and his big body build. He even has our iridescent pearl hair, but he has glossy blue eyes, just like my mother had back then before she got curse blind.

"I see my granddaughter is becoming healthier. Are the people there treating you better now?" he said, and I nodded.

"Yes, but they still have that attitude."

"And your father? How is he treating you?"

"Getting better. He serves me now," I said with confidence, and then he laughed.

"I see, I see... that means he got over your mother a little and is paying more attention to you now." He was smiling at the start, but he got a little bit sad at the end.

Alright! A little story time!

This gorgeous masculine man in front of me is my grandfather, King Lorcian of the Tritotria. Yeah, an underwater kingdom like the Atlantis, but mine was not lost, heh, and he was my mother's father. You see, Lorcian is a merman, as was my mother, Galia.

How do I put this?

I made our kingdom—the Glynn—quite special because it holds the elves and the mermaids. In short, the mermaids are our relatives, the Lustrous family. The Glynn has to have a male successor, so the maidens they will marry will be the mermaids. That's the agreement between the two sides, and that's why our family has its own trademark.

Our iridescent pearl hair color comes from the mermaids, and the amber eyes come from our family ancestors.

I just can't have that eye color because of the curse that the nymph named Eartha puts on because she was jealous of my mother.

This is a pretty good background story for a young Tancy.

"So, what brings you alone here, my dearest granddaughter??" he said with a sweet tone. He's really a frustrated grandfather.

"The Demon Lords are on the move," I said straightforwardly to him, and then he suddenly became serious. "Mostly this kingdom is the target, and the demon lords influence all the monsters to move, including the nymphs." He gets what I mean, and what I mean is that there will be a war between the mermaids and the nymphs.

How do I know this? Well, obviously, I wrote this plot, but I heard the conversation between my father and brother Gwydion. Now, Brother Gwydion is busy watching and slaughtering monsters from the south border.
