(Epilogue)
*September 24th, 2028*
*2:20 pm*
It was a beautiful and windy day as a twenty seven-year-old Kaede placed flowers on the gravestone of Anastasia Romanov, her best friend from the past.
"I hope you had a great life, my Bestie. I bet you had a great time in the acting world." Kaede spoke to the gravestone with a smile before walking away from the graveyard.
Soon after, Kaede entered her car and began driving away from the graveyard to her next location as she suddenly heard a phone call, and it was from Doc.
"Good Afternoon, my friend. How was your meeting at your job, did it go well?" Doc spoke to his friend from the other line while Kaede smiled at this before responding to the question.
"It went well! I might get that promotion after all. I've worked my ass off trying to get that promotion so I hope it pays off." Kaede responded confidently while chuckling as Doc was happy to hear this.
"That's amazing! I'm so proud of you! I know that your friends would be proud of you as well." Doc responded from the other line in a happy voice while Kaede smiled at this.
"Oh definitely. I truly miss them all. I wish I could tell them all about the good news." Kaede responded with small tears in her eyes as she was thinking about Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, Alexei, Kazumi, Bartok, and the rest of her friends.
Kaede continued to drive for a bit before she prepared herself to hang up with Doc.
"I'll be going now and thank you so much for calling me, Chiao!" Kaede spoke to her friend for the final time with a smile while Doc responded.
"Of course. Have a wonderful day, my good friend." Doc responded before hanging up.
After this, Kaede continued to drive across her neighborhood, looking at the many buildings that passed her, all while thinking about her friends.
"There's so much I want to tell them. I truly want to see how my friends have been doing these past few decades." Kaede thought to herself before stopping her car in front of a coffee shop, stepping out of the car in the process.
"Coffee! It always calms my nerves whenever I need it." Kaede spoke to herself in a sing-songy voice before entering the coffee shop with energy.
After entering the shop, Kaede walked closer to the counter as she waited for the barista to acknowledge her presence and soon after, the barista greeted her.
"Good Afternoon, what do you want today? We have our ten percent off special if you get a donut." The Barista, whose name was Katie, spoke to Kaede while the young woman's eyes lit up joyfully.
"Really?! How amazing! I'll take the deal." Kaede responded with a smile while Katie smiled back as she took out a coffee cup and marker.
"I'm glad, what is your name so I can write it down?." Katie curiously asked Kaede while preparing to write down the name.
After this, Kaede began to speak with a smile.
"Kaede." Kaede responded while Katie nodded before writing down the name of her customer, placing the cup down with a smile.
"Nice name. I'll call you once your order is ready, okay? Katie responded once more to Kaede before getting started on the order.
After this, Kaede thanked Katie before sitting down at the table, humming to the ambient music playing in the background while she scrolled through her phone.
