Sana
"Well, Sana."
I look up from my food to meet Mina and Momo's intense stares. I swallow slowly and put my fork back on the tray.
"What?" I sigh. An interrogation wasn't really how I imagined my lunch break.
"Who was that?" Mina asks.
"I have no idea-"
"That was Chou Tzuyu." Momo says emphatically. Both me and Mina look at each other in a state of dementia.
"Okay, is that supposed to mean something?"
"Chou Tzuyu is like the total celebrity of the school. She's gorgeous-"
"Speaking of gorgeous." Mina interrupts and glances at me. "What was that earlier between you too? And what was 'gorgeous stranger' supposed to mean?"
"I was speaking!" Momo exclaims.
"You can worship Tzuyu later. For now, Sana, the floor is yours."
I huff. "When I was on my way to your house, we collided. And-" I pause, not sure whether I should tell them about what happened afterwards with that big guy. I nervously start spinning my father's ring on my thumb before I take a deep breath.
"She called herself 'gorgeous stranger' and I guess it's stuck now." I add.
"What do you think?"
"About what?"
"Well, do you think she's a gorgeous stranger dummy?" Mina slaps my arm playfully.
"I know who she is so she's not a stranger-"
"So she's simply gorgeous. Just say it." Momo shrugs.
"That's not what I was going to say." I chuckle. "I don't even know her."
"Well, she's gorgeous, popular, everyone is drooling over her, she's a fighter-"
"A fighter?" Mina asks curiously.
"C'mon, that's obvious." I mumble and the two girls look at me questioningly. "What? The way she walks and her body stance suit a fighter."
"It seems you've observed her Sana." Momo says and looks at Mina who laughs.
"Ugh, you're ridiculous." I shake my head. I find myself laughing with them after a while though. That's how it always happens. And it's nice hanging out with them, gossiping about literally everything, helping me get my mind off things like my dad's death.
Yes, I've stopped searching but everytime I think about it, the fact that the person who killed him hasn't paid keeps bugging me.
★★★
During my first class, I was extremely bored so I chose to excuse myself and walk around the school for a bit, explore the grounds. Momo told me earlier that there are the indoor courts, indoor pool, indoor boxing ring for some reason and dance studio.
As I roam around the hallways, I suddenly hear constant grunting coming from behind a door. I stop outside the door and place my ear on it, wanting to hear anything more. I slowly open the door, the grunts now getting louder and the sound of punches accompanying them.
I peek in through the small opening and understand it's the boxing ring I'm standing outside. And in the middle of the ring, a tall raven haired girl in a black sports bra is furiously throwing punches and kicks at a punching bag.
"Can't stay away from me for too long, can you?"
Tzuyu's mocking tone echoes in the ring and I snap my eyes in her direction.
"Still thinking highly of yourself." I smirk at her as I enter the room and close the door behind me. Tzuyu gets down from the ring, her body glowing from the sweat, and throws a towel over her nape.
"So? Did you come here to watch me too?"
"Too?" I scoff.
Tzuyu shrugs as she runs the towel over her sweaty forehead and starts packing her bag. "Many people come to see me train. It's annoying really."
"Is it?" I scoff.
She looks at me for a while and throws her bag over her shoulder. "I never got your name."
"Really now?"
"Well, you obviously know who I am so it is only fair that I know too."
A smirk appears on my lips. "So you never stop thinking highly of yourself." I say. "I'm Sana Minatozaki."
"Hm. Chou Tzu-"
"I thought we already made it clear that I know who you are. Even though I prefer cocky bitch."
Tzuyu lets out something that sounds like a chuckle as she comes closer to me. "Very well Minatozaki. But for your own sake, keep that to yourself."
I take a step closer as well. "And why would I do that?"
"My 'fans'? They'll cut your throat open."
"And what makes you think I can't handle that?" I ask, raising my pocket knife to her throat. She stills for a while and that's when I add, "Don't you think I handled the guy in the morning just fine?"
"Oh, I do. Even though you shouldn't have. But you should know that few people dare hold a knife at my throat." Tzuyu whispers.
"Well, I'm glad I get to be the first." I grin, repeating her words from earlier in the morning. The corner of her mouth twitches at that and she leans against the knife which threatens to leave another mark along with the one from the morning.
"Me too darling."
"And a thank you for earlier would suffice, darling." I add mockingly, holding the knife steadily against her throat. She simply pushes herself closer to me, and I can feel the knife slightly cutting through her skin.
"You hurry yourself Minatozaki. I'm not that easy." she whispers. I chuckle and remove the knife from her throat as I take a few steps back. I toss the knife in my hand before shoving it back in my pocket.
"Neither am I Chou. But I'm sure the ladies love you." I smirk and turn around.
"You have no idea who I am."
"Do I need to know anything more?"
Tzuyu shakes her head and comes next to me until she is at the front, blocking me from the door.
"There are many things to know yet darling."
"My name is not darling." I huff in annoyance and open the door, walking down the corridor to my class.
"Hey! Sana!"
My name coming from her lips has me spinning around to face her.
"You're right."
I scoff. "About what?"
She winks at me before she turns to leave.
"The ladies do love me."
