Wolf.

No. Wolves.

I slowly hold Tzuyu's wrist and lower her palm from my mouth. "Where the hell did the wolves come from?" I whisper. Tzuyu sighs.

"You're really too stubborn to listen, do you know that?"

"You told me not to move. I talked."

She scoffs. "Smartass."

"What do we do?" I ask.

Tzuyu takes the gun out of her pocket and cocks it, the sound turning some wolves' heads towards us. "We do nothing. You're still injured."

"You can't be serious." I scold her. There's no way in hell I'm going to let her fight those wolves by herself. My pride just won't allow me.

"I am serious though, so go find somewhere to hide."

I scoff. "What happened to us being partners?"

"You will be of no use to me if you are dead."

"Well then, I might as well be of some use now." I insist, my eyes and tone challenging Tzuyu to try and convince me to do otherwise. Tzuyu sighs.

"Fine. But take this." she says and holds out the gun.

"What? You can handle it way better than me."

"It's safer-"

The growl of a wolf has us both turning to the pack in front of us. I take my father's pocket knife out, a pathetic weapon against a wolf but the only thing I have, while Tzuyu raises the Beretta M9. Now, all the wolves have turned our way. They're eyeing us hungrily, waiting for the right time to attack.

For a while, silence is all that can be heard. Along with the sound of Tzuyu and I's slow pants.

And then, one of them jumps.

He throws his claws at us, only to be shot by Tzuyu. The bullet finds the creature between his eyes, now lifeless as he falls to the ground. Another one charges and Tzuyu shoots him too. The next comes closer before he runs at us, and Tzuyu pushes me slightly back before she shoots again.

"Stay back!" she shouts as another wolf jumps for her. She raises the gun, pulls the trigger-

Nothing. No bullet. No gunshot sound. Just the sound a gun makes when someone fires it and it's empty. The wolf manages to sink his teeth on Tzuyu's shoulder, and she lets out a cry of pain.

Now, that just won't do.

I grab the pocket knife from the pocket of my pants and throw it furiously at the beast, aiming for his heart. The movement I made with my hand sends a searing pain to the wound, the stitches threatening badly to break.

Tzuyu gets up, panting, and that's when the two remaining wolves start charging for the both of us. My eyes land on a metal trash can, its cap lying on the ground, similar to the one with which I broke Yuto's nose. I grab it just in time to throw it on the wolf's head, making him whimper and stumble back. A knife connects with the right side of the wolf's head, drawing out blood and sending it to the ground with a loud thud.

Tzuyu walks over to me, spinning something in her fingers. She holds it out, and that's when I see it's my father's knife. "Here."

I take it with a smile, my eyes never leaving the blood trailing down Tzuyu's shoulder, the bite marks from the wolf's teeth visible and probably deep. I point at them. "Does it hurt?"

"What do you think?" she says sarcastically. I chuckle.

"Sorry. We should find something to bandage it with."
