"My turn to ask the questions, darling."

Sana chuckles and nods. "Go on then."

I sigh, thinking of something to ask her. I never really had a question, it was just an excuse for me to keep her close to me longer. "Tell me about your father."

She stiffens at the words, the shiver running down her spine something I can feel with my arm on her waist. I tug her slightly closer.

"My father owned a Japanese restaurant in our neighborhood. The best there was, even though he kept telling me I'm just saying that because he's the owner." she says with a sad chuckle that makes me want to hold her closer, comfort her.

I don't move. No one can be comforted by a monster.

"He would take me to work and have me sit at the kitchen, watch him and the chefs as they cooked. He thought about teaching me as well, but I'm a mess in a kitchen." she laughs lightly and her action has me smiling like an idiot.

What the hell has she done to me?

"He also worked as a karate instructor because just the money from the restaurant wasn't enough. He's the one who taught me everything I know."

"Well then, I guess I have him to thank for your being such a good partner."

She smiles but her eyes display a different emotion. "My pocket knife? It's his. He painted the hilt purple when he found out it's my favorite colour and taught me how to handle it."

I nod absentmindedly, too distracted by the beautiful creature in front of me. She lifts her gaze to me and I hope I managed to wipe the look of wanting from my face fast enough. "What's your favorite colour?"

I nearly choke on my laughter. "What?"

"Your favorite colour. What is it?"

"Why do you ask?"

She sighs. "Well, I don't think I know many things about you other than... you know. C'mon now, what's your favorite colour?"

I spin her in front of me, taking some time to think. I don't think I've ever had a favorite colour. I've never thought about it. Well, until I met her.

And I looked into a pair of ocean blue eyes that made me feel like drowning.

A pair of blue eyes full of sparks that made me feel like burning.

A pair of sky blue eyes that made me feel like falling.

Before her, the only colour constantly flying on my mind was red. A dark, bloody red. And it definitely wasn't worth the title.

"Blue." I reply finally, my eyes pinned on hers and my voice low. She shakes her head.

"I would have never guessed."

"Me neither."

She looks up at me again after I spin her one more time. "Favorite food. Or desert."

I scoff. "We're in the middle of a goddamn Challenge and you're asking me what my favorite food is?"

"We're in the middle of a goddamn Challenge and we're dancing. So yes, I'm asking you what your favorite food is. Just answer the question. Jeez." she rolls her eyes.

"Hmm. I like kimbap. And bread. And butter."

Sana widens her eyes. "Seriously? Out of everything you could eat, you'd choose bread and butter?"

I shrug. "They're my favorites. I had two dogs when I was younger and I named them after those."

"Really?"
