Tzuyu
"Tzu, you need to be careful."
"Ugh, not you too Jackson." I groan as I raise my hand and order another drink. Jackson moves his chair closer to me.
"Tzuyu, you know Yuto and Yuta are both active members of the Japanese Mafia. And the Trials are literally their excuse to get you out of the way." he says.
"I don't get it! You and Jay are also members, you should be careful too."
"Yeah, but you're the Boss's daughter. Things are different when it comes to you, the motives are higher. You're the payback they want for Minjun." he takes a sip of his drink, nodding before talking again. "And you've killed millions of their own. You're also their revenge."
As much as I hate to say it, Jackson is right. My brother has always warned me that what my dad has me doing will come back to me. And that, when it does, my dad won't be much help. Not like he's been much help these past few years.
"We need to have backups at the Dance tomorrow."
The mention of the Dance has me thinking about her again. Without my wanting to, Minatozaki Sana has been the object of my thoughts for much longer than I'd like. Ever since our dance in her room, ever since I felt her warmth, found out about her parents, felt her relax into my touch. No one has ever felt at peace close to me. And neither should she. I'm a monster and, no matter what I do, a monster I will remain.
"Everyone will be gathered at the Dance and my guess is the Japanese will give us a show of power. You know they're ruthless, they won't care if someone random dies." Jackson continues.
I shake my head in agreement. "You and Jay will be there, right?"
"Yes. And Mingyu, Vernon, Dino-"
"I'll call Jeongyeon and I'll tell my dad to bring more." I interrupt Jackson who can't hide the shock from his expression.
"But, the Japanese-"
"I don't know about the Japanese, but I'm not in the mood for killing innocent people. I'll only shoot at the Japanese. If something does happen, you and the others need to make sure Mark and the guests get out of there as fast as possible." I explain. I know, I'm cold. I'm cruel. After everything my dad has had me do, I'm immune to feeling sorry when I kill someone. But that doesn't mean I'll choose to do it if it's not necessary.

"Well, hello Chou Tzuyu."
Fuck. There are literally millions of students dancing and talking in the gym, yet she had to come to me. I run a hand through my hair and turn around to face a shorter girl with dark brown hair.
"Elkie."
Elkie comes closer and grabs my tie, twirling it in her hand. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"Yes." I reply firmly. Elkie chuckles mischievously and wraps and arm around my neck while stroking my jawline with her finger.
"And now, we are competing against each other in the Trials. What do you think about that?"
I push her arm from my neck. "I have no opinion on that matter." I say and walk away. Elkie however, yanks my arm and pulls me back to her.
"I see you're on your own. No date for the infamous Chou Tzuyu?"
I open my mouth to say something really cruel but a few gasps from the crowd have me turning my eyes elsewhere. And my jaw drops.
Coming in the now decorated gym from the big metal doors is my brother in a gray suit. But what is getting everyone's attention, and mine, is the girl next to him.
A brunette with beautiful big ocean blue eyes has her arm linked with my brother's. She is wearing a halterneck gown that looks as royal as her, with her shoulders and collarbones exposed. The dress is shining, both at the top where it's black but also down after the hips where it turns to a beautiful shade of blue, highlighting her eyes.
I have no idea how long I've been staring when I suddenly hear Elkie calling out my name.
"Tzuyu! Tzuyu, I'm talking to you!"
"J-just a sec, my brother's here." I excuse myself and walk away from Elkie who stands astonished and watches me leave.
"Tzuyu! I've been looking for you." Mark exclaims as he holds Sana's hand and comes to me. "You know Sana, obviously."
I smile at her and she does the same. I am taken by surprise by my own actions when I hold her free hand and bring her knuckles to my mouth.
"So, Sana and I are going to dance. You'll be here?" Mark asks when the first waltz starts playing.
"Sure." I nod.
And, just like that, she walks away.
★★★
Okay, one dance with my brother I can tolerate. But when I see Yuto approaching her, something inside of me snaps. And when she agrees, something deep inside wishes that was me.
"Tzu."
Another girl is next to me, offering me a drink. But this time, I gladly take the drink and smile.
"Thanks Jeong. I needed that."
"I saw it." Jeongyeon replies and points at Sana and Yuto dancing. I scoff.
"Am I that obvious?"
"Jackson told me about the Trials. You really think you can win this?" Jeongyeon changes the subject.
"Do you think I could?"
"You most definitely could." she says and takes a sip of her drink. "But that doesn't mean you will."
I shake my head and my eyes land on the beautiful brunette. Yuto is talking to her and I don't like it. I don't know why, I just don't.
"I'll be right back." I tell Jeongyeon and hand her my glass. With a few long strides, I'm standing behind Sana, shooting a deadly glare at Yuto.
"You're a vision Sana. I'm sure-"
"I'm sure you've danced enough." my cold tone surprises Sana who stumbles back onto me. "Watch out darling." I smirk at her. Yuto scoffs and leaves the dance floor with a simple 'Whatever'. I turn Sana around, sliding an arm around her waist and lacing the fingers of my other with her own.
"What are you doing?" she whisper-shouts but still puts her hand on my shoulder. I shrug the one that's free.
"You looked like you needed saving."
"I-"
"Don't. Just accept my help again."
"You always seem so eager to offer it." Sana grins as I hold our hands up, twirling her in a circle and pulling her back to me, my arm fitting perfectly on the small of her back.
"He was right about one thing though."
"Who?"
"Yuto." my eyes meet hers and flicker down to her plum lips for a moment. "You are a vision, Minatozaki." I say as I push her out in another twirl and pull her back against my chest. I hear her sharp intake of breath as my arm wraps around her and she turns her head to the side, her nose brushing my lips.
"Look how much you've improved. I guess I'm a really good teacher."
"Don't flatter yourself. I'm just a fast learner." Sana sneers at me as we continue swaying like everyone else.
A/N:
