"Just friends" (fluffy/Angst?)

Zoro and luffy were known for being oh so close since the beginning.
Nami had been one of the few to see truly just how deep their friendship went, incidents like when they first met.
Despite finding out the two only knew each other a few days, zoro seemed unquestionably loyal regardless.

Sanji had seen the peak of it all when it came to the thing that "never happen" on thriller bark.
Each crew had seen just how loyal and unwavering zoro was with luffy, and yet they also noticed how he was different with everyone else.

Sanji and zoro stood at the lower end, the two never seemed to stand each other unless it was required.
Nami and zoro had a good enough relationship but nothing special.
Robin and zoro at first stood on odd ends as he was not trusting of her, he slowly seemed to warm up though.

Zoro never really took a liking to ussop, at first he didn't mind it, but after the incident at water 7 he could never completely trust the man.
Zoro had nothing against him but simply found it a bit hard to just look past that.
Zoro stood on alright grounds with brook and franky as he didn't really care to much for the hobbies they seem to like.

Zoro took a liking to chopper due to his childish nature, zoro ending up more of an older brother to the deer, but regardless there was this distance that was noticeable even then.

Zoro was never this way with luffy, he always stuck close and fallowed each word without question.
Some would say he was the perfect expectation for a right hand man.

Luffy also seeming this way, he loved every member, but seemed to rely on zoro more.
Luffy often put his life in zoro hands, simply things like falling asleep on the battlefield while zoro protected him.
Luffy normally liked chatting away with zoro most.

The crew had grown accustomed to the obvious favoritism, none had minded.
It was not until law pointed it out, he couldn't help but notice how much different it seemed from any normal friendship.

The ability to completely and utterly rely on one another, the constant need to be beside the other or knowing at all times where each are at, the simply conversations between the two that are not even really important but rather just excuses to chat.

Law noticed the way they could cut off conversation with one person just to talk to one another, how both men seemed to stick close to one another, luffy often fallowing zoro around, or even how zoro would let luffy finish his food.

Above all law couldn't help but notice the way they seemed to look at each other. The subtle glances they made at one another when they thought no one knew, the small facial expression they would make, a simple small smile, or even nervous picking.

Law found this all too be odd, he examined the two around others and found these things to completely vanish, once law begin to notice this it seems the entire crew also became a bit more aware of what's happening. Everyone's curiosity growing by the day as things begin to shift.

The small glances between each other seemed more powerful, the conversations grew longer, the shared moments became more, and yet they tried hard to convince themselves.
