Everyone had sobered up by nighttime, partly thanks to Finn and Raven. Octavia and Aimee pretended to have seen things as well, so no one would suspect them. But her absence didn't escape Finn, and he caught her just as she was walking with Monty.
"Hey" he told her, a concerned look on his features "where were you earlier?"

Her heart missed a beat.

"I-uh- probably was walking around in the forest?" She lied.

But Finn saw right through her. He gave her a stern look, urging her to tell him the truth.

"Fine" she gave in, lowering her voice "I helped the Grounder escape".

He didn't even looked surprised or shocked, instead he looked like he already knew.

"Oh, it was you" he said.

"How do you know?" She asked, frowning.

"I saw him walk out" he explained.

Before Aimee could answer anything, Miller came out of the dropship, shouting that the Grounder had escaped. The teenagers started to panic slightly, coming to form a circle in the middle of the camp.

"What if he comes back with other Grounders?" Someone said.

"They'll kill us all" Someone added.

"Let the Grounder come" A familiar voice stated.

Aimee whipped around at that, and a knot she didn't know had formed in her stomach relaxed; Bellamy was back, he was safe.

He was wearing his usual cold features, and he let a huge bag fall on the ground.

"We've been afraid of them for way too long" he went on "And why? Because of their knives and spears. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being afraid".

He shared a look with Clarke before they got rifles off of their shoulders, showing them to the delinquents.

People around the camp gasped, relieved. Aimee frowned; more weapons just meant more blood. She shared a look with Finn, and she could see he was thinking the same thing.

"These are weapons, okay, not toys" Clarke said "And we have to be prepared to give them off to the guards when the dropship comes down. But until then, they're gonna help keep us safe".

"And there are plenty more where these came from" Bellamy said "tomorrow we start training. And if the Grounders come, we're gonna be ready to fight".

The crowd nodded along and dispersed slowly.

Aimee was standing in the crowd of excited teenagers the next day as unity day was starting. She was about to go and get some of Monty's Moonshine when her brother caught her arm.

"I need to talk to you," he said quietly.

Aimee nodded and they walked a little bit away from the rest of the delinquants.

"What's up?" she asked, crossing her arms on her chest.

"I need your help with something," he started "I want to arrange a meeting with the Grounders".

Aimee's jaw dropped at that.
"Finn-" she started, only for him to cut her off.

"Aimee, I know it sounds bad, but we have to try and make peace"

She looked into his eyes for a moment. But there she only found determination and honesty, no doubt, no fear. Pure hope. She was terrified of the Grounders, but she knew he had a point.

"How can I help?" She asked.

"Come with me, let's follow Octavia to Lincoln's" he explained.

"Now?"
