Chapter 12

48 hours has passed. Now is the time for the mission.

Bible stood up in front of the mirror. Suited up in his vampire hunter attire. The day has come. Bible traces his finger on his face then his neck taking a good look at himself for last time. All clean and soon it will be bloody.

“This is it..”.

He had made his choice.

“Bible, we have team members behind to back you up in case it didn't go as plan. Make right decision or you both will be shot down” Luke warned him before muting his line on Bible's earpiece. Unlike any normal mission he had been, this is the most challenging and heart breaking one. He sought for the ending he want even if he has to go extreme to get it.

Bible lifted up his mask and made his way to execute the mission. He waited for the notice that the building system had been shut down. Then it was dark.

A heavy step drags him as he walks along the corridor heading to Jeff's unit, the same path he took seems familiar but different now. It used to be both of them walking together full of love. Now he walked alone with weapons.

He break into the penthouse, quietly sneak inside searching for his target. Luckily, the unsuspecting vampire came out from his bedroom and his senses picked up an intruder inside his house.

Bible was about to strike Jeff but the vampire beat him to it. He grabbed his wrist and slammed Bible into the wall. A lines of crack formed behind him. Bible groaned at the impact on his back.

Before he could counter back an arm pressed onto his pipeline. "Who are you?” Jeff growled. “Hmmghh!” the hunter grabbed on Jeff's arm, trying his best to pull it off him. The struggle only caused Jeff to pressed further. With the mask on it adds more difficulty for Bible to breathe.

His lungs screams for oxygen. He got to do something or he will pass out. Bible blindly reach for a pocket knife on his waist. Once his fingers found it, he open the knife slashing it on to Jeff's arms. The vampire hissed, stepping back. Bible slides down, and give a swift kick to the defenseless chest with his right foot crashing him onto a table.

Bible kneeled down holding his neck, coughing. He watches a stream of blood flow from the open cut he made. Jeff groaned and his eyes glows indicating that he will pay for what the hunter just did. Jeff extract his claws, with vampire speed he swatted it continuously at the intruder. Bible dodge and rolled himself away. He used his light body to avoid getting injured.

At safer distance, Bible store the pocket knife and reach back to his bag side pocket pulling out a special rope to binds Jeff's hand together. Perfectly timed, he throws it and the rope loops around Jeff's wrist. He tightens it, tiny torn piercing the wrist. Jeff gritted his teeth, giving violent tugs to break the ropes. Bible grunted to hold Jeff's down.

With few tugs the rope snapped and Jeff wave his claws on the other's chest. Bible’s eyes widen ‘Shit!’, it throw him off balance. Bible could see the claws aiming for his chest. He feet missed a step and he slipped down. The sharp nail came in contact with his covered face slicing his cheek. The fabrics slides off from his face. Jeff’s eyes widen At the reveal of familiar face.

“Bible..?”

Bible use his sleeve to wipe the blood, ignoring the stings afterwards. The hunter stare back at Jeff, silently saying ‘Yes, this is me. A vampire hunter’. Jeff felt guilty that he had accidentally hurt Bible, he let the claws return to back into fingernails.

Without thinking, Jeff made his way towards him. Bible frowned ‘No, you've got to fight me'. Bible reached behind him to take his twin swords. The sudden draw of the sword alerted Jeff. Not wasting any time Bible darts forward, slashing his sword endlessly towards the vampire.
