Chapter 11

*Flashback, At the organization*

“Bible you're here. Come sit” Luke said pointing his palms to the sofa. A file laid on the table which indicate he had new mission he need to do.

“Bible, I need you to kill this vampire here. We had investigated, he committed crime 21” Bible picked up the folder and scanning through the details. His face gradually changes when he recognises who it was.

‘Jeff..’

“I-I can't Sir" Luke stand up, sighing out loud as he head to the windows. “Why is that? I thought you promised that you know your limit..What did you said before hmm? Just customer? Friend?". Bible knitted his eyebrow, his mouth open trying to counter back. “I..”

“Don't tell me that you already in love with him?” Bible stared at Luke shocked that his secret been disclosed. Busted. His boss glared back at him, his jaw tensed.

“I always have my eyes on everyone and no one can do anything behind my back” Luke continues. Bible stand up from the sofa, instead of being silence he should voice out too.“But Jeff is kind. He's not like any vampire that fall under our list. There must be some mistake!”.

“Bible!!” the younger one jolted.
“I saw you spend time with Jeff. Two of you alone in his place. When I gave you a week off. Look at what you did?? You know the contract, I warned you too! How dare you after everything I did for you” Luke expressed his disappointment towards his son.

“I’m grateful for everything you taught me. But now this is my life. I know who Jeff is better than anyone in this organization. He didn't commit this crime. He was framed!!” he slammed the file onto the table.

“ENOUGH!!” Luke stormed forward towards Bible pointing his finger at the younger one's face. “Need me to remind you that you lost your parents because of them. You're a disgrace to them”. Bible tighten his lips, clenched his fist with anger. That statement touches the sensitive part inside of him “Is it wrong to fall in love with a vampire? He's different not like the others. I love him” Bible said gently.

Luke grabbed Bible's collar harshly “No. You. Can't. That's final. I will give you 48 hours to decide...Either his life or yours. I won't hesitate to kill you if you fail to do it” with that he pushed Bible, the latter staggers on his feet as Luke stormed out shutting the door hard.

Bible sank down into the sofa. He covered his eyes and his brain made up multiple plans he could think of that could possibly save their lives. His eyes landed on picture of Jeff on the floor.

‘I can't let you die’.

*Flashback end*

Bible continues to hold Jeff, brushing his hair with his fingers. “You don't know how many times I counted and prayed that I could be with you in your next life. I started to lose hope. When you confessed, you made me feel like I got another chance to make it right. Even the fate are on our side now”.

A sweet smiled formed on the human’s lips. His heart feels happy that Jeff could start anew with him. But he doesn't believe that fate is on their side this time too. Not after Luke gave him the mission to terminate Jeff. A slap on his face.

“If I don't want to be with you, what would you do?” Jeff detached himself from Bible's embrace to face him. Unexpected question caught him off guard. Mixture of confuse and hurt shown on his face. Is Bible going to leave him? He told him everything, did he said something wrong?

Jeff studied Bible's expression, he understand that Bible were testing him.  “I would respect your wish” Bible hide his pained smiled. So this is it. It's over. ‘I didn’t expect this from you, Jeff’.

Suddenly the vampire carried Bible and they arrived at Jeff's penthouse. The human were dumbfounded, wondering why Jeff bring him here. Not saying anything Jeff dragged Bible's hand towards the secret room.

Once they entered, Bible looked around the room. The room cleaned, no vase, no rose. Just the uncovered portrait on the wall staring at them. They both stood like a couple on the altar and the portrait as their witness for what Jeff about to say.

Jeff hold Bible's left hands. “The past me would say that..but this time” Jeff waves his other finger at the portrait and fire appears at the edge of the paper. Bible stared at the fire slowly eating the paper “J-jeff?! That's your..No..” he reached out to stop the fire but Jeff refrains him from doing so.

‘That's his treasure!’.

To distract him, the vampire holds Bible's cheek with both his palms, looking straight into his eyes. Bible gasped, his heart beating fast at the deep stare from Jeff.

“I love you, Bible. This is my answer. I'm ready to start anew with you. What happen 500 years ago. It ended. I won't see you as him and you don't need to compare yourself to someone already dead. I want to make new memories with you, live by your side till the end. Whatever you want, your desire I will grant it for you”.

Tears well up on Bible's eyes, Jeff planted a kiss against Bible's knuckles. Never end his stare. Bible nodded, closing his eyes. Jeff leaned forward and kiss his lips as a seal to his promise.
By the end of their kiss, the portrait is gone leaving black marked on the wall.

Their lips slowly left each other with a soft sound, both breathing out. Bible smiles shyly at Jeff, the reassurance he got was amazing. He could now imagine how there lives will be together, making memories and doing every first's together.

But that's impossible.

A flash of Jeff covered in blood draws his smile away, turning into fear. Bible's inhale sharply and wrapped his arms around Jeff's body. Shutting his eyes to dismiss that image.

“Bible..What's wrong?” Jeff asked grabbing onto the other shoulder to look at his face. Bible shakes his head and tighten his hugs. Seeking for comfort he need right now.

“No! L-lets stay like this ..P-please...”. Jeff could feel Bible trembling. “Okay” he placed one arm across his back and the other one around his waist.

‘I'm scare Jeff, I don’t know what will happen to us if I went with my plan'

“Jeff?..If I did something to you..Just know that I do it because I really love you..Promise?” he snuggle his face on the crook of his neck, breathing in the scent he shall missed.

A lump of anxiousness erupt from his throat. Jeff took a moment to response before saying.

“I promised”
