Chapter 14

Few days later.

The mission were successful. Jeff's place were cleaned up and managed by the association. They have lost many skilled hunters that night. To their relief Bible escape death bed and now recovering in the hospital.

They both waited for Bible to wake up. Fully prepared for Bible outburst and hatred towards them.

"Hmmm.." a faint groaned made both of them went to both side of Bible's bed. The younger one blinked few times, taking in the surrounding before looking at his guardian eyes.

"Sir..? What happened?". Luke carress his hair "You don't remember what happened?". Bible frowned thinking back for pieces of events he could recall.
"I was killing a vampire...Had a big headache..I saw dead bodies..then..just that". Carl and Luke exchange suspicious look both having the same thought. "Anything else Bible?" Carl asked.

Bible looked up to the ceiling, thinking throughly then a sharp pain beat his head "Oww... no..". His partner touches his shoulder "Its alright Bib, don't push yourself". Bible returned a smile at Carl.

Carl stare at Bible once in a while searching for traces that he's faking it but no. He found none. He got his partner back. The partner who swore to fight against vampire together.

They cater Bible's need before leaving him to rest more. Both of the hunters sat at the waiting place. "Amnesia..Is that what Bible got, Sir?". Luke crossed his arms leaning back on the chair. "That could be one of the reason..or Jeff wiped Bible's memories of him". Carl sighed out, feeling sorry for Bible.

He doesn't have anymore memories of Jeff. He will live on as if Jeff wasn't in his lives all this while. Only they know who Jeff is.

When Carl was inside the ambulance taking Bible to the hospital he noticed that his partner wearing a ring he never seen before. He traces his finger on the band then start to removed it but it glows. Not letting anyone pull the ring off. The man frowned, maybe he would ask Bible later.

"Who's ring is it you wearing Bib?. It look very rare almost like custom made" one of his team asked. Her eyes admiring the engraved black rose on the ring. Bible raised his eyebrows "Ooh.." he looks at the unknown ring that had been on his finger since he woke up. Probably from that one mission where he got knocked out for unknown reason.

"I don't know.." Bible stare at the beautiful ring that fit perfectly on his finger. He felt somehow happy and loved. "By any chances do any of you know who gave it?".

His friends exchange glances among each other waiting for someone to say something but they all just shrugged. "We don't know Bib". Bible looks dissapointed, he had been going through his head trying to remember anything about the ring but it futile. He can't seem to recall anything.

A week later, Bible was discharged from the hospital. While celebrating his return he gave a shocking news to his boss and his teammates that he is resigning. He want to focus on his shop and do what he loves.

"Bible, thank you for your service" Luke said as he look proudly at his son who he now see that he had grown up to be fine man. But he did unforgivable things to Bible.

Making him killed Jeff. The sin that will stay with him.

Thankfully Bible won't know. "You're free to go son" Luke said placing his hands on his shoulder.

"Thank you, father".

He cut ties with the association and live on as normal florist at the shop.

Sometimes when he's alone he would twist the ring on his finger smiling. It giving him calming effect even though he doesn't know why. Carl came to visit him from time to time checking on his best friend wellbeing and not long after he too quit being a vampire hunter.

Carl voiced out his planned to start a business and Bible couldn't be more happier for his friend.

Throughout his days after quitting. He faced mysterious strange things. He lost count how many times he experiences sudden emotion and finding himself in a places that held something important to him.

One time while he wrapped a bouquet of roses, he started to cry. When he went to the flower arrangement class he hear someone calling his name. When he turned his back to see who called him, no one there. A voice he is so familiar with. Even when he did flower arrangement alone instead of smiling at the finished work he cried.

"What's wrong with me..Why when I look at this.. it hurts..?".

At the bar

Bible were sipping his drinks alone while waiting for Carl to come pick him up. He looks at the stage longingly.

'There's no performance today too'.

The stage had been empty ever since he focus on his shop. He remember it used to have singers perform on that stage. His heart also telling him that the stage have special meaning to him.

'Who was there...?'.

Sei looks at Bible he knows what Jeff did. He was the first person that Jeff shared to about his plan. He was so angry after what Jeff said. If he's still alive he would beat the shit out of him for making Bible like this.

Despite being angry and disagrees to Jeff's plans, he swore to Jeff that he won't tell his existence to Bible no matter what happen. All he could do now is to pretend how they were before.

The day before Bible knows Jeff.

'How could you Jeff..You making him lost' Sei gritted his teeth.

The bartender came "Hey Bib, it's been awhile. What have you been up too?". Bible smile "Well like usual, spending my time with flowers". Sei makes some drinks and pass the order to the waitress. "Ahh~ Yes that's the Bible I know".

"Sei, wasn't there suppose to have singer on stage?" Bible said as he pointed out at the empty stage. The bartender paused and look at the stage. Sei try to think off something. Well Jeff is dead he better come out with something. "Ohh.. he went somewhere..I guess he migrate to other place". Bible nodded taking the lies Sei gave "Really...Damnn he got nice voice though.. I think..." he said smiling to himself.

"Yea-?!..A ring, W-what you're getting married?". Bible raised his eyebrows "Ohh this" Bible touch the ring on his finger. His smile with mixture of few emotions.

"I'm not going to get married..I'm in love with someone. The things is.. He's no longer here...".

The bartender were suprised. Jeff told him that he'd remove all traces of him but how come Bible shows that he remembered something.

'That's impossible'

Sei observe Bible for a while then gave a long sigh. He's happy that Bible got something he could hold on to.

That ring from Jeff..If Bible remembers. He reached out and ruffled Bible's hair.

"Bib you ready to go?" Carl patted his back. They heading out for short trip to the beach today. Bible nodded finishing up his drink "Yeah! Bye Sei!" he waved and follows behind Carl.

Once Bible stepped out from the bar he looked up at the sky. Happy with the weather today.

God if you hear me let us reincarnate again where we'll be together till old.

His name is Jeff Satur okay?

Carl stares at Bible, his eyes glisten with guilt looking at how his friend changed. When they were together Bible's mouth always talked about Jeff.

Now he felt somehow awkward watching him so happy and live peacefully. He swore he will take good care of Bible as promised with Jeff.
