~Aurora's POV~
~Summer 2023~
I must have been looking at my college degree in my hand for the thousandth time today. I finally finished my last year of college a couple of weeks ago and I finally felt relief.Eddie and I finally heard word back from Oliver around the same time and he told us that he had found something in California. Both Eddie and I packed for the trip and we are planning on leaving with everyone in a few days.
The last few months have been a whirlwind.
Eddie and I have still been talking about the future and what will happen regarding this cure. Steve and Rowena have been going through the motions.
After a month after Oliver and Nathan put an end to Pierce, Rowena informed everyone that Steve was not himself and that he was turning into something different. After she told us, we have seen Steve become more of a creature with every full moon. Everyone has done what they can do to help him, especially Rowena and Dustin.
Dustin, Robin, and Nancy still have been there for us. Nancy is still writing for the University. Robin is still working at the Video and Arcade that her and Steve own. Dustin is still his same nerdy self that he has always been. However, there was something that Dustin seemed to be holding back from us.
Even though we have been going through many obstacles, we all still have each other.
I saw Eddie walk into the bedroom out of the corner of my eye and smiled.
"Hey." I smiled.
"Hi." He smiled.
Eddie came around and put his arms around me and looked over my shoulder.
"Looking at it again?" He whispered.
"Yes. I just can't believe I'm done with school now." I chuckled.
"I know." Eddie said.
Eddie took my hand and set my framed degree on the dresser next to the bed. He then brought both of his hands back on me.
I turned in his arms and looked up at him and smiled.
"I am so proud of you." Eddie smiled.
"I know. You say it everyday." I smiled.
"I mean it though." Eddie whispered.
Eddie leaned down and pressed his lips against mine and we started moving our lips gently. I felt Eddie's hand cup my face and we both started to move our lips faster. Eddie then parted his lips from mine and started kissing down my neck.
"Eddie." I moaned.
"Oh, Aurora." Eddie whispered.
Eddie's hands gripped my waist and I jumped into his arms. I folded my legs around his waist as he walked over and sat us on the bed. He continued kissing down my neck and started whispering sweet nothings to me.
"Aurora...do you have any idea how amazing you are? How beautiful...how tempting you are?" Eddie whispered.
Eddie loosened the straps on my tank top until they cascaded down my shoulders. He then looked up at me and I was breathing hard.
"Eddie." I whispered.
We both leaned towards each other and our lips were back on each other's once again. Our lips moved sensually and our tongues were making sweet contact with one another.
However, before we could get anywhere, a phone rang.
Eddie and I both parted and both of us groaned. We both looked around and I saw that it was my phone that was ringing.
I got off of the bed to retrieve my phone and once I did, I joined Eddie on the bed.
Nathan was calling us. That was odd. Oliver is the one that usually calls us. Eddie and I both looked at each other curiously.
I answered the phone and put it on speaker.
"Hello...Nathan?" I answered.
"Hey, Aurora. So, there has been a change of plans." Nathan informed.
"What do you mean?" Eddie asked.
"I mean...plans have changed. We need everyone to come to California early." Nathan explained.
"Why?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter why. You just need to come right away." Nathan dismissed.
"Where is Oliver? He is supposed to be the one to let us know this. We all agreed to meet him in a few days and he has not said a word to us." Eddie explained.
Believe me, I am sure he would be able to if he could." Nathan sighed.
"What the hell does that mean?" Eddie asked.
"Just...you guys need to get here." Nathan replied.
"Nathan...what the hell is going on? Put Oliver on the phone!" I yelled out.
"I can't. Because..." Nathan started.
"Because why?" I asked.
A moment of silence came upon us and I spoke again.
"Nathan?" I gasped.
"Oliver is missing...he went missing a few days ago." Nathan revealed.
Eddie and I looked at one another in shock.
In that moment, Nathan hung up the phone and we informed every one of the change of plans.
But now, we don't have just one thing luring over us. We now have to find Oliver, the one person that was bringing us the answer that Eddie and I have been searching for.
Eddie and I both try to process our thoughts as we prepare to sleep before we leave the next day for California.
Where is Oliver? Will Eddie find what he is looking for? Will things ever settle down with our friends? Will anything go back to normal?
These questions raced through my mind as my eyelids slowly started to close and my body started relaxing.
I felt strong arms around me as I drifted off in a sound sleep.
Despite everything that has changed now, I smiled knowing that I had Eddie right here with me.
