Sword [Part 2] (Bohdi x Fem. Reader)

Someone said I write like ChatGPT- I don't know whether it was a compliment or an insult lmao. Anyway, enjoy :)

The flight to the border was tense, the gravity of the Venin sighting hanging over them. Y/n and Bodhi led the way, their dragons' wings slicing through the night air with practiced ease. The world below was a blur of dark shapes and shifting shadows, but Y/n's focus was on the mission ahead.

'We must remain on high alert,' Arathorn's voice echoed in her mind, a steadying presence amidst the chaos. 'The Venin are cunning and dangerous.'

Cuir's thoughts joined the mental conversation, 'We are stronger together. We must stick with each other.'

As they neared the border, the first signs of trouble became apparent. A thick, unnatural fog cloaked the area, its sinister tendrils creeping across the landscape. The air grew colder, and Y/n felt a shiver run down her spine.

"This isn't normal," Bodhi muttered, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the horizon. "The Venin are up to something. They're too close to the wards for comfort"

Y/n nodded, her grip tightening on Arathorn's reins. "We need to find out what. Stay close."

They descended to a rocky outcrop overlooking the fog-covered valley. The other riders landed nearby, their dragons restless and on edge. Xaden Riorson, looking weary but determined, joined them, his presence demanding attention.

"We've received reports of Venin activity in this area," Xaden began, his voice low and urgent. "They're likely trying to breach our defenses and spread their corruption. We cannot let that happen. We all know far too well what they can do."

Y/n exchanged a glance with Bodhi, their silent understanding clear. This was their chance to prove themselves, to protect their home and those they cared about.

"What's the plan?" Y/n asked.

Xaden's gaze swept over the assembled riders. "We'll split into groups and cover as much ground as possible. Y/n, Kael, Lyra and Bodhi... head North. Rhinannon and Violet come with me. Ridoc, Sawyer, Aetos, go East."

The group made their way cautiously through the eerie landscape, eyes and ears alert for any sign of movement. The fog seemed to swallow sound, making every step feel precarious. Y/n's heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing with thoughts of what they might encounter.

Suddenly, a guttural growl echoed through the mist, followed by a rustle of movement. The group froze, weapons at the ready.

"There!" Lyra pointed to a shadowy figure emerging from the fog, its twisted form unmistakable. A Venin, its dark, red eyes fixed on them, advanced like a predator.

"Well well well, who do we have here?" The venin grinned evilly.

Bohdi readied his sword, "How did you cross the wards?"

"That doesn't concern you," He smiles, but then adds, "Perhaps your wards are failing."

Bodhi tightened his grip on his sword, his jaw set in determination. "It concerns us more than you know," he retorted, his voice low and menacing.

The Venin chuckled, a sound that sent chills down Y/n's spine. "Your bravery is admirable, but futile. You cannot stop what is coming."

Bohdi orders his dragon to fire, but just as quickly as he appeared the Venin disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

"We have to find him," Kael says.

"No. Let's report this to Riorson," Y/n grumbles.

"Are you alright?" Bohdi asks softly.

"I will be, once the Venin are gone."

We fly side-by-side, and I catch him stealing glances at me. I knew this, because I was stealing glances at him.

I mean, besides the very obvious threat of all our lives at stake, this was one nice flight. And it was nice to be flying with him.
