It was 10 p.m. Mom said it was time to sleep. I lay down and closed my eyes. Then I landed in a dream. The atomic bomb was heading straight for Tokyo. People panicked, screamed and ran away. Then I caught a flying newspaper. The headline said:
Is this the end of Japan? Then I woke up and looked to see if it was a dream. Then I went to make myself some coffee. At 5 a.m. Then mom woke up. And she asked:
-And why aren't you sleeping?!
- I had a nightmare, mom. I won't sleep anymore. I made myself some coffee, can I make you one too, mom? - I said.
-Yes, give me cofee with milk, she asked
And I made her coffee with milk, according to her wishes. Then I took a book in my hand and started reading while drinking coffee. Mom put her hand on my shoulder and asked me:
-What are you reading about?
- About love... nothing special - I muttered
-And... what was that nightmare about? - she asked
-It was about Tokyo. I saw an atomic bomb flying. In the very center. People panicked, ran and screamed. I caught a flying newspaper with the headline "Is this the end of Japan?" And then... - I stopped
-And then...what?- asked my mother
"I woke up," I replied
-It's really a nightmare - admitted my mother - I can stay with you if you want, but I'm tired... - she said
-No, it's okay, I'll be fine, I said
Mom went upstairs and I continued with the book. I finished reading it at seven in the morning. Everyone got up at eight. Mika woke up first and asked me:
-Why do not you sleep? You should wake up... -she said, looking at the watch-...now. But you're already downstairs. What are you doing here?
"I had a nightmare," I replied.
- What was that nightmare about? - she asked
-It was about Tokyo. I saw an atomic bomb flying. In a very nice city. People panicked, ran and screamed. I caught a flying newspaper with the headline "Is this the end of Japan?" And then I woke up.
-I'll tell you, it was an intense dream - she said - I wouldn't fall asleep after that either.
And then the rest woke up. Everyone sat at the table waiting for breakfast. I came to them and sat down too. Then I felt bad. My head started to hurt. I ate breakfast and went to bed. I had a headache for another hour. But I pulled myself together and went to the park. I saw Mai walking in the park. I approached her and asked:
-Oh...Hey Mai
-Hey...- she said
-I have a question...
-What?
-Can we exchange adresses?
-Of course.
And we exchanged adresses. Then Mai asked me:
-And...And your dad is alive?
-It's hard for me to talk about it...- I said, crying
-Why?
-Because... Because he's dead
-Mine too... He died on August 9 due to a bomb. He did not react after the explosion. In the hospital they tried to save him. It was useless. It was only possible to wake him up for a moment. Before he died in the hospital, he said to me: "Mai, don't worry about me... go far away from here, because it's too dangerous here without me. If I'm still alive, I'll call you. But then...
-Then?-I asked curiously
-He died - she said, wiping her tears - his heart stopped beating...
-It was different... My dad had to be at work. When the bomb exploded, when we got on the train and when we arrived, he had to be at work.I didn't even know if he was alive or dead. I found out a few days ago. It was hard. Losing someone you love... it's terrible.
-True- Mai said affirmatively.
-Mai...
-What?- she asked
-I have to go
-Oh, see you then
"Bye, Mai," I said, waving her hand. When I got home, dinner was already cooked. I sat down at the table. Everyone was at the table. Mom served ramen soup on the table. I ate the soup and went to the garden. I lay down on the grass and looked at the sky. Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was lying on the couch and my mother was stroking my hair. My mother said:
-You fell asleep on the grass, so I moved you here.

-I was really tired, that's why I fell asleep there.-I said, yawning
-Then go to bed for an hour
-fine mom
-Goodnight, Hana
-Goodnight, mom
Then I went to bed and took a short nap. I woke up. Mika and Tomoko were sitting next to me. They asked me:
-Are we having fun together?
-Yes, I replied with a smile on my face.
And we had fun for a few hours. Then mom entered the room. She said:
Hana... I have to tell you something...
