ISAGI LOOKED UP with concern in his eye and tilted his head. Rin grinned. Isagi liked him back. Isagi cared about him too.
Holy fucking shit they were dating.
How the hell did he manage this? He was so lucky. Before he stupidly opened his mouth, he remembered they weren't alone and looked back at Sae.
Isagi seemed to notice the tension and he grabbed Rin's hand.
"I'm just going to shower, then go home-"
"Just stay here," Rin suggested, but it felt more like an order. Isagi smiled. Rin knew he wanted to stay; the raven was just playing up the 'friendship' status they had put on their relationship.
"Okay, well, I'll see you soon?" He looked hopeful and Rin nodded. Isagi looked over to Sae and smiled politely, "It was nice meeting you."
"You too," Sae responded, as he watched the conversation closely. "Could I grab your number, and take you out for dinner?"
"I'll go out for dinner if Rin comes. Organize it with him," Isagi smiled once more before leaving the room. His stomach flipped when he realized that Isagi was standing up for him, that he wouldn't go out for dinner with his clearly more successful brother.
Once Isagi left. It was just the two brothers. Rin turned back to Sae.
"Stay away from Isagi, he's not interested."
"Or are you interested? And you don't want someone to steal him from you?" Sae countered. Rin frowned, was it really that obvious?
Sae laughed, "What? You're surprised? You clearly like him. I never seen you look that happy, even when we were kids."
"So, what, you flirt with him? Great fucking brother you are."
"You've never been motivated to do anything for yourself, you do everything for everyone else. You live the way you think you're supposed to." Rin felt a knife twisting in his stomach at Sae's observation.
"The only time you've ever been determined to take something is when it was a toy I was playing with. So, I flirted with Isagi so you'd-"
"You are fucked," Rin interrupted, "you're so fucked up. I fucking hate you so much. You don't know shit about me, we haven't spoken in years, you've been here for five fucking minutes, what makes you think you know anything about me anymore?" Rin spit out and Sae looked genuinely hurt at what was said. "What the fuck are you even doing here?"
"I missed you," Sae spoke and Rin felt the knife move from his stomach to his heart because those three words felt like the truest thing Sae has ever spoken in his entire life. "I got accepted into the national team, and I- I thought about when we were kids and that's what we wanted. So yeah, I wanted to tell you. I wanted to tell you and I miss you."
