THEY HAVEN'T HAD sex in about two weeks.
Rin didn't mind the sex part (okay, maybe he was losing his fucking mind not being able to touch Isagi), but he was more concerned about not connecting with Isagi.
Isagi left early in the morning for work and got back late from studying. The same routine he had for weeks.
It was nearing Isagi's university finals so he was spending hours at school studying and doing assignments. This was on top of the full time hours he was doing at the cafe.
When they did see each other, Isagi seemed stressed, his skin was pale, and he had deep purple eyebags under his eyes. He seemed to be a shell of a person he was before - Rin realised Isagi didn't even allow himself to be affectionate or cuddly anymore.
Rin was at a loss of what to do.
He had one idea, but assumed the worst idea he ever had in his entire existence. But he had no other choice.
The line rang a few times before he answered. "Hello."
"Hi," Rin answered, as he started pacing his room, nervous to even initiate the conversation.
"And what do I owe this honour?" A low voice drawled out. In the background he heard some shuffling, and Shidou's voice called out 'come back to bed'.
"You and Shidou? Really?" Rin couldn't hide the disgust in his face.
"I assume you called me for a favour, insulting my relationship isn't going to convince me to help you."
"Right. Sorry," Rin answered. Silence hung in the air, Rin unsure of what he even called for, unable to start the conversation.
"Is it about Isagi?" Sae sighed.
"Yes."
"Did you break up?"
"No."
"But you want to?"
"No, no, definitely not."
"Hm." Sae thought for a moment. "So I assume he's pulling away?"
"Yes," Rin breathed out. "He's working a lot and studying, and I want to support him and be there for him but he's never home. Sometimes even opting to stay at his apartment—"
"Wait," Sae interrupted, "You don't live together?"
"Well, no," Rin answered.
"Simple then, ask him to move in. Then he won't need to work as much because he won't be paying rent, right?" Sae spoke so casually but Rin was mind blown.
"Holy shit. That's actually a good idea?" Rin could picture Sae rolling his eyes.
"I'm full of good ideas If you actually listened—" Sae was cut off by Shidou. "Nah you're just full of me baby."
