RUNNING! | CHANLIX [completed]

Chapter 9

Felix woke up shaken at seeing an unfamiliar room, causing him to try and get up, not realizing Chan was also inside the room with him, sleeping on a couch by the corner covered in a blanket from head to toe. When the hospital machines began to beep due to Felix taking his tubes and drips off, it woke Chan up instantly, making him rush towards Felix out of worry.

"What are you doing Felix? you can't leave, well, not until the doctors tell you too", he told him as he placed him back on the bed bridal style, while Felix gazed at him before lowering his head with a bit off relief in his heart when it dawned on him that he was really at a hospital and safe with Chan by his side, but also with some bit of sadness from Chan's demeanor towards him, as if he was disgusted, mad or angry at him, but something was up.

"I'll go call the nurse to place the drips back on you, so stay!", he told him before turning to leave, but Felix stopped him by grabbing on to his wrist, causing Chan to look back at him. "How long have I been here?", he asked with his head still lowered. 

"3 days now, let me go c...", before Chan could finish his sentence, Felix cut him off, "Why are you here Chan...I mean with me...I'm sure you have better things to do than babysit me", he stated holding his arms feeling cold, while Chan felt a pang in his heart at his statement before placing a blanket on him then taking a chair to sit next to him by his bed.

"How could you say that Lix, of course I'm gonna be here with you, like I should have before, and I'm sorry that I wasn't", he explained, making Felix shake his head looking away. "Great, I guess Hyunjin has already told you guys everything", he said feeling ashamed as he kept looking away.

Chan took his hand into his, caressing it, making Felix slowly face him, "Yes he did, am I'm glad he did too. You did nothing wrong...Do you understand? you were a victim in all of this! That's why I'm sorry I didn't do enough to look for you. You've suffered alot Lix, and for that, please do forgive me", he said with tears in his eyes.

Felix bit his lower lip facing down as he also tried to not show his forming tears, "It was not your fault Chan, please don't blame yourself", he said with his head still lowered, making Chan sigh deeply before clearing his throat.

"While you were here, me and Changbin took it on ourselves to go arrest your parents for what they did to you, they tried to convince us once again that it wasn't their fault, you ran away on your own accord, until we told them you've returned and will make a statement, that's when they kept quiet. And that Yibo bastard, whoever he is, is next on my list too once I get my hands on him! So....will you be okay with the police coming over to take in your statement?" he asked him.

Felix fiddled with his fingers at the thought of those three who ruined his life, making him shiver all over while Chan caressed his back. "It's okay Lix, it doesn't have to be now or today, you take your time with this, while they suffer in jail for a while.", he told him.

"I'd rather speak to Changbin only, if that's okay, and also, as long as I don't get to see my parents, please don't make me see them, I don't want to see them", he said in grief as he began to sob, causing Chan quickly get up from his seat and get in his bed next to him, so he can embrace him by calming him down.

20 minutes after the nurse left from placing his drip and tubes back on, Felix fell back to asleep right away, while Chan watched him closely with tears escaping his eyes. A knock came from the door, causing him to immediately head over to open it so that Felix doesn't get woken up.

It was Changbin and another cop next to him. "Hey Chan, remember Minho from the station?", he asked him while Chan and Minho bowed to one another before shaking each other's hands in acknowledgement. "How is he? when can we get his statement? he's parents want a lawyer because they want to get out already. They're saying we lied and holding them against their will!", Changbin informed Chan who crossed his arms in utter anger.

"Changbin I don't care what they say, you keep them in there as long as you can. I spoke to Felix about it, he's not ready see them. You just keep them there until Felix feels stronger and sees that he's safe again!", Chan told him, while Changbin glanced at his deputy next to him before facing Chan once more.

"Look man, I know how you feel, but they want their lawyers now, and uncle said if we want to keep them there for good, Felix has to speak out soon or we'll be forced to let them go", Changbin explained to Chan who ruffled his hair in frustration. 

"Just give him at least till tomorrow, he's still a bit shaken up, but he'll talk, and he said he can only speak to you Changbin and no one else", he told Changbin who gave him a nod in agreement. "Okay, that will do, I'll see you Chan, Hyunjin will come by later to see him, I'll come by after work", he stated, before hugging Chan and leaving with his deputy.
