The very next morning, she swung open the door of the room you were staying in and told you to get up to train. It was 5 in the morning.
Groaning, you dragged yourself to the bathroom to freshen up, and Ikkyu floated beside you, looking equally exhausted. "Man, her name really suits her!" Ikkyu complained as you nodded while brushing your teeth.
"If this keeps on, my lights will literally pass away," Ikkyu continued, his tiny form drooping with fatigue.
"Seikyo Akari... her name translates to 'passing away light,' after all," you murmured through a mouthful of toothpaste.
"Seriously, why does everything here mean death?" you questioned, rinsing your mouth and shaking your head in disbelief.
Ikkyu floated over to the mirror, mimicking brushing his teeth. "Maybe it's a theme? Like, 'we're so tough, even our names are deadly'?"
You chuckled, finishing up and splashing some water on your face to wake up. "Or maybe it's just a coincidence... a really creepy coincidence."
As you both prepared for another grueling day of training, you couldn't help but wonder about the strange and ominous names.
Today all you did was train and train; she was very cruel.
"Do you know why I chose you?" Seikyo-san asked while you two were eating dinner.
"Um, because I'm cute?" you joked, trying to lighten the mood. Seikyo-san choked on her food, clearly not expecting your response.
"You are really like your dad," she muttered, drinking some water to clear her throat.
One thing you knew about her was that she had been a junior of your parents. That’s why your mom had suggested picking her.
"I get that a lot..." you laughed awkwardly. It was true; a lot of people said you were like your dad—very unserious.
"Do you really have a quirk?" she asked, and now it was your turn to choke on your food.
"...I remember your mother crying and telling me that you were quirkless." She looked at you for a moment, her eyes softening.
"Y/N, not good!" Ikkyu yelled, panicking.
"Uh, um," you stammered, your eyes widening. "It's rare, but I got it later!" You lied though your teeths.
Seikyo-san raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical but not pressing further. "Interesting. Well, quirks can manifest late, though it's unusual."
You nodded vigorously, hoping she would buy the explanation. "Yeah, it's a rare case. But, you know, I make the most of it."
She looked at you thoughtfully for a moment before nodding. "Very well. Just make sure to keep working hard. There’s a lot of potential in you."
You let out a sigh of relief and gave her a grateful smile. "Thank you, Seikyo-san. I won’t let you down."
