Anh skipped backwards through the crowded streets, paying no mind to the woman who shouted about lost oranges. Sekiz followed slowly, gazing in awe at the vibrant red cloths hanging from every corner.

"This is Chinatown! But its basically the place for all the Asians."

Sekiz nodded slowly, taking in the information.

Behind them, Haruto was getting jostled at every turn. Elbows hit his shoulder, and he was sure he would have a bruise later on.

"安!我的橙子呢?(Anh! My oranges?)"

"不知道!(I don't know!)"

The woman scoffed, but left them alone.

Suddenly, an arm shot out of the scarlet crowd, grabbing Sekiz. She was whirled around to face a figure, wearing a bright red hood.

The figure put a finger to their lips.

"Hey, where'd your pet girl go?"

Haruto frantically scanned the crowd, looking for his sister.

"Oh no, oh no. Where's Kurori?"

"You lost your sister?"

"Oh, so now you know the word for sister?"

Anh rolled her eyes.

"Technicalities."

--ш--

"What's your name?"

"Sekiz."

The hooded girl frowned.

"You don't look Middle Eastern."

"I'm not! I was raised in a room. A white room."

She pulled down her hood, looking very concerned for Sekiz's sanity.

"What's your name anyway?"

"Maria Perlah Reyes de los Santos."

Sekiz blinked in confusion, overwhelmed by the long name.

"You can just call me Perlah though."

That was easier. Where were they anyway?

"We're in the... backwater part of Chinatown."

"Backwater?"

"Yeah. The dodgy part, basically."

"Why?"

"You looked interesting, and I wanted to say hi."

Suddenly, the girl pulled up her hood, the vivid red standing out against the dark muddy colours of their surroundings. She took a protective stance in front of Sekiz, gesturing for her to go away.

Sekiz gladly ran off.

Anh was starting to get worried, even though she wouldn't show it. That girl- Sekiz- had been missing for a while, and here in Chinatown, anything could be happening.

Footsteps approached from her left, and without thinking, Anh swung her arm in that direction, catching a girl's forearm.

"Sekiz!"

The overly-protective man behind her nearly knocked Anh over as he ran to hug Sekiz.

Must be nice to be loved.

However, Sekiz wasn't as happy as her brother.

"There- there's a girl! Wearing non-white! Like that!"

She pointed to the nearest signboard, a luminous red.

"She- told me to run! Away!"

Anh's ears pricked. A girl in a red hood? Sounded like someone she knew.

"Calm down, Kurori. Breathe in, breat-"

"Where was she?"

Haruto shot her a nasty look for interrupting, but Anh didn't care.

Sekiz pointed at an inconspicuous alley.

Chó Chết (Very very nice word source: trust me bro)

Anh sped off. She knew that alley, she knew the entire Chinatown like the back of her hand. But of course, she only used that knowledge sometimes.

Now was one of those times.

--ш--

"Perlah!"

Perlah turned around, seeing Anh Ngọc run at her.

"Hoy! (Hey!) There you are!"

"I leave you alone for five hours and you're already kidnapping little girls into strange dark alleys?"

The Filipina wrinkled her nose.

"Don't say it like that! She wasn't that little anyway!"

"Let's go, before they send another search party for us."

"You'll defeat them all."

Anh puffed out her chest with pride.

"Yes I will."

--ш--

Bonus scene!

"What colour is that?"

Perlah looked towards Anh in pure confusion. Anh smirked at her, gesturing for her to deal with Sekiz.

"Uh, red?"

"Red..."

Oh god, why am I the one dealing with this?
