ALL-VALLEY CHAMP 1
WHEN JENNIFER EXITED MR. MIYAGI's CAR with Daniel, she looked around at the number of people who had been attending this very tournament.
"Boy black belt." Once they made it inside, Mr. Miyagi spoke to the man that signed them in - and Jennifer watched them both as he lied.
"You'd better hustle. They're starting." The man ordered, and with that - Daniel glanced to both Mr. Miyagi and Jenny, "Down the hall, to the left." Daniel grabbed his belongings, and before he left, Jennifer placed a soft kiss on his cheek, her hand rubbing his back to calm his nerves.
"I'll see you in there."
She followed him a bit as he walked off, shooting her a small nod and was stopped by Mr. Miyagi who held her hand discreetly, keeping her in place. "Uhm, excuse me Mr. Referee, this not Miyaji. Miyagi." He corrected, leaning over the table and quickly handing a black belt to Jenny.
She took it and without any hesitation forced it under her shirt, hiding it there and walking off.
The All Valley sports arena was packed. Jennifer had been here once before last year, but only to watch Johnny - now, this was different. She stood outside of the locker room with Mr. Miyagi, holding the black belt in hand as she searched the room, studying the many people from school that walked in.
"Hey, Mr. Miyagi!" Daniel's voice was finally heard, and Mr. Miyagi glanced over - watching as Jennifer forced the belt around his waist.
"Daniel-San, hurry up. Come." He ordered, "Tournament starting."
"Where'd we get this?" Daniel asked, his hand against Jenny's arm as she tied the belt around his waist, in deep concentration.
"Uh, Buddha provide." Mr. Miyagi answered, walking off as the two followed.
"Where's ring 3?" Daniel questioned, stammering as he looked to both Jenny and Mr. Miyagi.
"Over there."
"Hold it!" An official walked from behind as Jenny took her hands from the belt, finishing up and she looked over to see him pointing at her. "Only teachers and students on the competition floor. I'm sorry."
Jennifer placed her hands on her hips, sharing a small look with both Mr. Miyagi and Daniel before she ran a hand through her hair, shrugging "I'm - "
"His translator!" Daniel bud in, he pointed to Mr. Miyagi and sent a small nod to Jennifer before she followed through. "He doesn't speak English, I can't understand his instruction without her."
Mr. Miyagi spoke abruptly in Japanese, and Jennifer squinted her eyes, "What'd he say?" The official asked as she quickly turned over.
"He said you remind him of a relative he has back home."
A smile crept onto the official's face, and he let them off. "Oh, I guess it's okay."
Mr. Miyagi spoke again, and Jennifer 'translated' it again. "He says you're too kind."
"Ah, thank you." The official bowed.
"Welcome." Mr. Miyagi retorted, turning and walking off.
"Okay, what are the rules here?" Daniel asked, his heart pounding as they entered the room. He viewed all the competitors, all these experienced kids and couldn't help but feel nervous.
"Don't know. First time you, first time me." Mr. Miyagi shrugged, and at that - Daniel's mouth fell open.
"You don't know? That's just great, I'm dead. I'm dead. You told me you fought a lot." He groaned, a small scoff escaping his lips as he placed his hands on his hips.
