While sitting in class, I noticed a boy was staring at me. At first I didn't really recognize him, but when I stared back I knew it was the same boy who had been talking to Caroline yesterday night at the Grill, the one with brown hair playing pool.

I didn't know his name, nor did I want to. He was staring too much, and it was aggravating. I stared back as much as I could to make my point come across: stop looking or I will tear your eyes out as soon as we're done with school. The boy seemed to differently understand my staring, smirking at me slowly before turning his attention to the teacher.

I rolled my eyes. He'd surely think I was interested as well, but I haven't been able to be interested in anyone for the past century. I didn't want to either.

The bell rang and I quickly gathered my stuff so I was out of there as soon as possible, but as I crossed the classroom door, I heard footsteps behind me. I just knew it was that boy again, and I began walking much faster, not wanting to talk to him. I didn't know what he would want with me, and I didn't really want to know.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around in a flash. I glared at the boy and took his hand off me. If he thought that I wanted to talk to him before, now I wanted much less. I didn't like people touching me without permission, nonetheless a boy who seemed to be the biggest jackass at school.

"Hi." He softly said, ignoring the way I crushed his hand when I took it off. I only nodded with a tight smile and stared at him, waiting for him to possibly say anything else. He didn't, so I crossed my arms.

"Yes?" I asked him.

"I..." he stopped to think for a moment before gulping. "I'm--"

"Tyler! Come on!" A female yelled from the school's double doors, frowning at the boy. The girl was gorgeous, with big green eyes and long wavy brown hair. She looked at me weird, but I paid her no attention. The way she was looking at us right now told me everything that I needed to know. She was his girlfriend.

The boy in front of me turned around at the sound of the girl's voice and waved at her, acting as if he hadn't been talking to me in the first place. "Coming!" He turned back around to face me and looked at me awkwardly before leaving me there, standing like a complete idiot.

I groaned and immediately left the school's premises, not wanting to stay there any longer. There was a party at the falls tonight, and I needed to prepare physically and mentally for it. By preparing I meant sleeping, and eating. But mostly sleeping.

"Well, this is lame." I muttered as we stepped foot into the party that Bonnie had claimed to be a back-to-school type of party. It was next to the falls, and that's what made it somewhat pretty. But other than that, it was just a lame party around a bonfire in the middle of the woods filled with drunk and horny teenagers.

Stefan chuckled from beside me. "What did you expect?"

I shrugged. I hadn't expected anything, I just didn't think it to be outside. It was kind of chilly too, I should've brought a jacket. "They could've done it inside, you know? It's safer. Here we're surrounded by the woods and who knows what's out there--Stefan!"

My brother wasn't listening to me at all, he was trying listen to his surroundings, and I knew he was trying to find Elena's voice in the crowd. I rolled my eyes and shook him out of it. He wouldn't budge. Screw it. I decided to overhear as well, wanting to know what he was listening to. I tried to concentrate as much as possible, and I immediately heard Elena.

"He's a little pretty," she said, probably talking about my brother.

I snickered and pushed Stefan away playfully, making him glare at me and slap my hands away.
