I rolled my eyes when I noticed Stefan about to step out of the house.
"Where are you going now?" I asked in annoyance. Can't this man ever stay inside for once?
"I'm going to the hospital," he answered quickly. He opened the door and before he even stepped outside, I ran in front of him.
"Why?"
Stefan sighed. "Why are you so annoying."
"Why are you going to the hospital?" I asked once again, putting my hands on my hips.
"You remember the girl who was bitten last night?" My eyes widened. I had forgotten about her. "Yeah," he nodded at my reaction. "I'm just gonna go see if she's alright."
He stepped around me and walked away. "And you're not coming."
"I wasn't going to." I mumbled and closed the door shut behind him. I was about to walk towards the couch and lay on it before my phone decided to ring. I furrowed my brows and took it out of my pocket. The only person who had my phone number was Stefan, so whoever it was that was calling me, I had no idea who he was.
"Hello?"
"Franny!"
Or she.
I rolled my eyes. How in the hell did she get my number? I took a breath before deciding to put on my best act--as per usual.
"Hello, Caroline." Screw the best act. "How in the hell did you get my number, if I may ask?"
"I got it from your brother!" She answers in a happy voice. Thanks a lot, Stefan. "Listen, Bonnie, Elena and I are going at the Grill right now and we are going to prepare the flyers for the Night of the Comet, so you're coming too."
"The night of the what?"
"Of the Comet! It's...tomorrow?"
I looked over at the couch which seemed too comfortable to pass, but I guessed some socializing wouldn't hurt, even if it was with some girls I barely even knew.
"See ya!" Then she hung up before I could give her a proper answer.
I closed my eyes shut. Guess I'll relax on the couch another day.
--
"You came!" Caroline exclaimed happily which resulted into some people turning around to see what the reason was about her yelling.
I grinned at the girls. I took an extra chair from a table nearby and sat beside Elena, who offered me a sweet smile, which of course I returned. "How are you?" She asked me.
I nodded at her in appreciation. At least someone asked me that. "I'm good, thank you. And you?"
She grinned and nodded as well. "I'm good...thank you."
I turned to the other two. "So, what's this Night of the Comet again?"
Caroline gaped at me as if I had said the worst insult in the world. Bonnie on the other hand leaned over and began explaining.
"It's like a festival that celebrates the comet that passes over Mystic Falls every 145 years. The first time it occurred was in 1864."
My eyes widened slightly. "1864?" It seemed like forever ago. Why didn't I remember the comet?
"Yeah." She nodded. "Grams said the comet is a sign of impending doom. Last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity."
