Branzy sighed as he walked down the sidewalk towards his home. He had felt incredibly lonely recently. Like there was something in his life that he was just missing. A gap that needed to be filled.
Branzy soon stood in-front of his house, it wasn't big, but it was just the right size. He walked up to the front door and fumbled to grab his keys. Once he finally grabbed them, he slit them into the keyhole, turning it to unlock the door. He walked inside, only to be met with silence. Something about his house always being silent didn't sit right with him, only fuelling that empty feeling inside him.
He sighed once more as he closed his door behind himself. He walked further inside, and immediately flopped right onto the couch. He had, had a stressful day at work, and needed to relax a bit. He grabbed the remote and turned on the tv, watching whatever show was already on as he didn't feel like looking for something to actually watch.
As he was watching, there was an ad that came on that caught his eye. It was an ad for the local adoption centre in town. Branzy thought a little, he felt incredibly bad for those poor kids who have to live like this, and, maybe having a kid or two wouldn't be so bad. Maybe that was the thing he needed to fill that empty feeling he had. To come home to the sound of children playing instead of deafening silence. Yes. That's exactly what he needed.
Though that was a job for tomorrow, he was still incredibly tired. So tired in-fact, that he passed out on couch five minutes later. He made up his mind. He was going to adopt a kid.
The next morning, Branzy woke up with excitement. The idea of giving a child a better life was a great feeling to him. He quickly got up and made himself breakfast. Before getting into his car, and driving down to the adoption centre.
As Branzy drove, he couldn't help but get a little nervous. Was he really going to do this? Was he truly ready to be father? Especially to kids that aren't his own? Branzy shook these thoughts away. "No, i can do this. I'm ready." Branzy thought to himself as he pulled into the parking lot.
Branzy stepped into the adoption centre. Where he was immediately met with a woman at the front counter. He walked up to her, and started talking, saying he was here to adopt a kid. She lead him behind the counter after a quick background check. Leading him too the room where all the kids where playing. About five of them really caught his attention.
The first one was what looked to be a teenaged boy, no older then 15, sitting in a corner and sulking. And second was a little kid, who looked to be about 10, playing with a toy spaceship. And third and forth where two boys play fighting with each other. And the last one was was a boy playing with some blocks, who was strangely wearing a necklace that looked like a heart. But Branzy didn't question it, people can wear whatever they want.
Seeing the boys just really tugged on Branzy's heart strings. He couldn't bring himself to adopt just one boy. He felt the need to adopt all five of them. To get then out of the shit hole that was the foster system. He turned to the lady and pointed out the five he was willing to adopt. He knew how hectic it was to adopt five kids. But he knew it would be worth it.
The woman went to grab the five boys, bringing them over to Branzy.
"Boy's. This is Mr. Craft. He's here to adopt you! How about you introduce yourselves?" The woman smiled at the boys, urging them to speak. The oldest boy looked unnerved by her, like he knew something Branzy didn't. Soon enough, one of the boys chimed in
"U-uh-... I'm Jay!! Jaymoji!!!" The one, who was playing with a spaceship earlier spoke, slightly nervous, but happy nonetheless.
"... m-my name's Skip!! And this is my best friend Rekrap!!!" The boy motioned to one of the others, these where the two play fighting with each other.
"I'm... Sandiction." The one with the heart necklace chimed in, he seemed very hesitant about speaking to Branzy.
The last and oldest boy didn't say anything for a moment, until speaking.
"The name's Failboat." He spoke as if he was annoyed. He didn't seem to fond of Branzy. And Branzy couldn't really blame the kid. He would be too, especially if he was in the foster system like them
"Well, it's nice to meet you five!!!" Branzy gave them a smile, trying to seem as friendly as possible.
Branzy went to sign the adoption papers. When he was done, he lead the kids to his car. And started driving off
"So... is anyone hungry??" Branzy spoke up after a few minutes of silence. Surely the boys could want some food
The five boys all nodded. They where quite hungry.
"Alright! Where'd we like to have lunch?" Branzy asked
"Oh! McDonald's!!!" Jaymoji yelled
"Yeah!! McDonald's sounds cool!!" Said Skip
"I guess it wouldn't be so bad to have some McDonald's..." Rekrap said
"What they said!" Sandiction said
"... McDonald's is fine. I guess..." Failboat slightly mumbled that, still not to fond of Sandiction.
"McDonald's it is!!" Branzy said excitedly. He was glad most of them where happy
He drove over to McDonald's, parking in a parking space and helping some of the boy's out of the car. They all walked inside, Branzy sat the boys down at a table before heading to order.
10 minutes later, he returned with all the food. Sitting down next to Jaymoji. Branzy tried to make small talk, asking about what they where into. And that lead to a whole ramble about video games from most of the boys.
They later soon finished, getting back info the car, and driving to Branzy's house.
Once they arrive, Branzy walks over and opens the door for everyone.
"I know it's not much, but it'll do" Branzy said to the boys, closing the door behind them and himself.
It was getting quite late, and he knew the boys had to sleep, so he opened a closet and grabbed some blankets. Walking to the spare bedroom and making makeshift beds around the one that was already there.
Some of the boys, excitedly ran into the makeshift beds. While a few just walked towards them (aka, Failboat and Sandiction.)
Branzy smiles as he watched the boys snuggle into the beds. He definitely needed to buy them new clothes, and some toys. And maybe a couple mattresses too. But this would all do for now. He felt different then he did yesterday, he felt happier. Like the empty feeling had finally been filled. He was happy.
He had a brand new family
