Its was the very late hours of the night, the only sounds being the soft snores of the boys, and the living room Tv, which was the only thing to light the room. Skip sat on the couch, watching the Tv. He should have been asleep hours ago, but he just couldn't.
So there he was, watching Tv past midnight, even though he had school in the morning. He sat alone for a while, until he suddenly heard footsteps heading toward him. He turned to see Sandiction heading towards him.
"Why are you up?"
"I couldn't fall asleep"
"Well... neither can i, so..." Sandiction sits down next to Skip.
They both sit in silence for a bit, watching the Tv together. Skip the looks at Sand.
"Want to know some animal facts?"
"..." Sandiction stared at him, it took him a minute to process what Skip was saying since he was so tired
"Sure, Skippy"
"Great!!! Did you know, a dogs sense of smell is between 10,000 and 100,000 times better than a human's, but they have just one-sixth our number of taste buds??"
"Really? Thats so cool!!"
"Oh!! Certain types of male penguins "propose" to their females by giving them a pebble-which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "nice rock!"!! And! Meows are not an innate cat language. They developed them to communicate with us! While cats can make more than 100 different sounds, dogs only make around 10!!!"
Skip continued rambling on and on about different animal facts for a whole hour, he only stopped because he got too tired.
"Mmm... i-i think im sleepy now..."
"M-me too..." Sandiction lets out a yawn.
Skip also yawns, he then cuddles up to Sandiction, closing his eyes. Sandiction wraps Skip in a nice hug, also closing his eyes, both of them falling asleep almost immediately.
And hour later, Branzy walks into the living room because he heard the Tv on, he then finds Skip and Sandiction cuddled up on the couch together, fast asleep. Branzy smiles, running to a bedroom and grabbing a blanket. Placing it over Skip and Sand, he then kissed both of their foreheads.
"Goodnight, my boys... I'll see you in the morning" he whispered, before turning the Tv off and walking back to his bedroom.
