Meet me at 12:00 AM midnight at the library.

~C

A slip of paper slides under my bedroom door, and I immediately unfold it. I read the note, then open the door, hoping to see someone and get an explanation, but there's no one there. Clutching the note to my chest, I walk out of my bedroom and walk towards Emmie's room, which is almost right next to mine. Once I arrive, I find Emmie walking out of her bedroom, looking at a similar looking note as mine. She looks up and sees me.

"Willow! Did you give me this note?" Emmie says. I look at it, and see that it has the exact same words as mine does.

I shake my head. "Nope. I just got this note as well. You think it might be Coquetta? She's the only person we know with an initial of C." Emmie nods, thinking about it as Axel runs up to us, panting and clutching a note.

"Yo. Who gave me this?" he says.

"We think it's Coquetta. See the C?" I say, pointing at the bottom of the note.

"Ohhhh," Axel nods. "Then Alver and Elvar also got the note?"

"Of course we did," says the soft voice of Alver. The voice that has gotten considerably more dreamy as his power was revealed. "I dreamt this last night. I was waiting for this to happen. And we are going to break out of this castle to see the Dark Entity." Everyone gasps.

"So we should all wait together, just in case the Entity tries to attack each of our rooms," says Elvar. Alver nods, his eyes suddenly clouding over. He looks at the window and sighs.

"You guys want to camp at my room?" Emmie says. "It has like, what, three or four beds?" Everyone nods, and we plan our sleepover.

I go to Emmie's room at 11:00 PM, and then Alver and Elvar follow at 11:25 PM. Then Axel will arrive at 11:50 PM, giving us ten minutes to walk to the library.

We go back to our rooms, and when the gong for dinner sounds out, we don't see Coquetta anywhere. The seat designated for her is empty.

"You think she's preparing?" Axel whispers to Alver. Alver shrugs delicately, and then faints.

"Oh geez!" We all carry Alver to a long bench, and lay him on top of it. Alver clenches his fists and grits his teeth. Elvar furrow his brow.

"Del... kie... go... away... run...-" Alver groans, shaking his head from side to side, as if warding off a bad spirit.

Then, he falls still. We watch him in silence.

He screams.

Emmie screams along with him, as does Coquetta. "Stop screaming!" Axel says, but Emmie points a shaky finger at Alver, and we see what they see.

Alver's eyes are wide open, emitting a milky white glow. His body slightly floats in midair, and stills. After a few moments of watching, he flops back down on the bench and wakes up.

"Selkie and Delkie... they came to find us... we met them at the library, and then... we started arguing... and then something dark took them away," Alver says, and then bursts into tears. Elvar immediately carries him up and makes him sit up, then forces a glass of water down his throat.

"Say it again. Selkie and Delkie... what?" Elvar says. His face is white with terror, and I immediately know it's because he's worried for Selkie. Terrified. Scared.

"They came to the secret place," Alver says, his voice reedy. "And then something happened, and we started arguing. While we were arguing, something bad, something dark," Alver breaks off again, and gasps, "something dark took them away.

"We're going to meet them tonight," whispers Elvar. "And we're going to take them to our room, and we're going to ask them exactly what the hell happened to them."

We don't bother with the dinner afterwards, but as we slip out of the dining hall, I feel the Entity slip into my mind.

What are you people thinking?

Nothing to do with you, I think sourly, thinking about how he acted when Coquetta arrived in a room.

Do not bring her up again. I do not wish to think... about her.

Get out of my head, I think. And then I imagine tossing the Entity out of my head into a tube labelled "TRASH CAN FOR THINGS THAT ARE USELESS". The voice disappears from my mind. I sigh in relief.

-time skip to 12:00 PM-

"Hello," I whisper, and I walk into the room. Emmie nods and shuts the door behind us. She looks at me and puts a finger to her lips. I check my watch, and see that it's 11:05 PM. "Twenty more minutes until Axel arrives."

Emmie quietly locks the door again, and we both sit down on her bed. The headboard has elaborate flower designs carved into it, with matching Chinese floral patterns sewn onto the bedsheets (yes I love my home).

After twenty minutes, we hear a quiet knock at the door. Emmie unlocks the door and accepts Axel into the bedroom, where he sits next to me. He sighs silently as he stretches out on the  bed. Once the door is locked, he says, "We might have to be a little more careful. I heard someone patrolling the corridors towards the library. But they left two minutes ago. I was nearly late."

Emmie narrows her eyes, but doesn't speak. After another twenty minutes, she checks her watch again. "Five more minutes until the two other guys arrive."

Five minutes seem like five lifetimes as we wait. After ten seconds after the clock strikes 11:50, we hear a knock on the door. Elvar and Alver stand outside, gesturing for us to come with them.

"Someone is patrolling the hallways. They leave every five minutes," whispers Alver. "We're not sure if they're gone yet."

When we step out onto the corridor, Coquetta suddenly steps out of the shadows, frantically gesturing for us to come with her. "The two people - Selkie and Delkie - are outside. I brought them in, and they're here." Elvar and Alver both suddenly light up, as if lit by a candle. They rush to the library, and launch themselves onto two people.

We hear the sound of lips pressing on each other, and advance into the room to see Selkie wrapping his arms around Elvar's neck. Delkie has his arms around the torso of Alver, who melts into the body of Delkie.

"Awwww," we all collectively say. The four of them blush at being caught in the open.

"Aw indeed," a deep voice says.
