Unknown POV...
The café was buzzing with its usual afternoon crowd, but my eyes were fixed on the door. I'd been trailing Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill for weeks now, hoping to snag a juicy story for the gossip column I worked for. Rumors were flying about their love lives, and today, I was hoping to catch something hot.
I nearly dropped my coffee when I saw them walk in with a girl I'd seen in a few snapshots online-Vira, I think her name was, the mysterious woman who'd been turning heads and setting off whispers.
As they settled at a table, I made sure my seat gave me a perfect view without being too obvious. Shubman and Ishan, cricket's golden boys, looked relaxed, but Vira seemed a bit jittery, glancing around like she was expecting something-or someone.
"Mujhe bhook lag rahi hai," Shubman announced, picking up the menu and scanning it.
After some time of examining the menu, Shubman looked around the room and pointed to another table, as Vira a look of realisation washed over her face. She smiled, nodded at Shubman, and called out a name.
She waved over a friend who had just walked in. The girl spotted them and rushed over, her face lighting up with excitement. I recognized her from some other events. The plot thickens. The two women went to the counter to order drinks, leaving the boys at the table.
This was my chance. I shifted my seat a little closer, pretending to scroll through my phone while keeping my ears open. They didn't notice me as I edged closer, and I quickly hit the record button on my phone, just in case anything newsworthy slipped out.
"Yaar, mujhe Shubman ko lekar guilty feel ho raha hai," Vira said, her voice low but intense.
Her friend gave her a knowing look. "Kya? Aisa kyun?"
Vira sighed and glanced back at the table where the guys were waiting. "Kal practice ke baad ghar gaaye the, aur woh thoda off lag raha tha, aur paata nahi kyun lekin shayad mere wajah se ho raha hai. Mujhe nahi pata ki Ishan ko yeh kaise bataoon."
I could hardly believe what I was hearing. Was there something going on between her and Shubman? This could be gold-a love triangle involving cricket's hottest stars. I kept recording, my heart racing with excitement.
"Shayad woh sirf practice ka pressure tha," Priya reassured her. "Tum dono toh sirf acche dost ho, yeh sab tumhari wajah se kaise hoga?"
Vira nodded, but her expression was still conflicted. "I hope you're right. Main nahi chahti yeh sab mere aur Ishan ke beech aaye."
As they took their drinks and headed back to the table, their conversation shifted to lighter topics, and I slipped back into my seat, pretending to be absorbed in my phone. They didn't notice me as they returned to the table.
Priya was practically vibrating with excitement as she sat down next to Shubman, her eyes wide with admiration.
"Shubman, main aapki badi fan hoon! Aapka innings at Gabba toh kamaal tha!"
Shubman flashed a charming smile, clearly used to this kind of attention. "Thanks, us match ke liye bohot mehnat ki thi."
Ishan laughed, teasing Vira as he nudged her. "Dekho, ek aur fan mil gaya."
Vira managed a smile, but I could see she was a bit embarrassed by Priya's fangirling. This was getting interesting. Vira was caught in the middle of this messy situation-her best friend admiring her maybe-something-more-than-friend Shubman while she sat next to her boyfriend Ishan. What a tangle.
The conversation was lively, filled with laughter and stories. But there was an undercurrent of tension in Vira's posture, the way her eyes lingered on Shubman just a bit longer than necessary, and how she seemed to force herself to focus on Ishan. This was a story begging to be told-a scandal waiting to unfold.
As they chatted, I pieced together my plan. This had the makings of a great headline-a love triangle involving cricket's rising stars. But I needed more. Perhaps an interview, or more covert observations, would provide the pieces I needed to complete the puzzle.
I packed up my things, slipping out of the café with my heart pounding in anticipation. This was going to be big, and I intended to get every detail. The café doors swung shut behind me, leaving Ishan, Shubman, and Vira in a tangled mess of emotions and potential headlines.
I walked away, already drafting the article in my head. This scoop was going to be my ticket to the big leagues. I just needed to play my cards right.
