The next day, once classes were over, I went back to shower and change before texting Lam that I would pick him up.

I didn't get a response from him, so I figured he was probably showering as I knew he had long ended classes. I got ready and swung around to his dorm, and knocked on the door.

There was no response. I knocked again, but still no response. Just then, I heard footsteps from behind and a surprised "P!".

I turned to see Lam being supported by Aim as he walked towards the dorm.

"What happened?" I rushed towards them. Lam chuckled softly as he filled me in that he had sprained his ankle while rushing earlier post classes. Aim had seen him so helped him by getting the sprain seen to and was bringing him back. I nodded, thanking Aim softly. Aim just smiled at me and told me to continue looking after Lam since I was around.

I nodded and offered to hold on to Lam slowly, and then I helped him into the room. Aim took his leave, saying he was meeting Forth and Park for dinner.

I settled Lam down on the couch and asked him if he needed anything. Lam waved off my concerns and apologised for not being able to make it for dinner. I stressed that it was not as important and that he should get better soon first. I said we could always have dinner in the dorm, and Lam smiled quickly at that before it disappeared as usual.

I ordered dinner for us, and we sat down to have it.

"How was your day, P?"

"It wasn't so bad. Just a couple of things due for submission and my lecturer came to me again about providing lessons for students who need it. But he said he would hire me as a freelance tutor this time."

"Are you going to take it, P?"

"What do you think? Should I?"

"Why not? It means extra cash for you..."

"But time away from you. Are you sure that's a good idea?"

I watched the flush of embarrassment flit over Lam's face, and I chuckled. But he smacked me hard on my arm for teasing him! I told him I would think about it as I did not want it to affect school, too. He nodded and told me to decide how I deemed fit. As we finished dinner, Aim called to check in on Lam. I watched quietly as Lam spoke to Aim, a faint reddish hue colouring his cheeks. I felt a bit displaced knowing he was affected by Aim, but I bit my tongue. Being jealous was not helpful at all. Lam watched my face as he spoke and raised his eyebrows questioningly, but I didn't say anything, just shaking my head.

Lam didn't say anything but just put his hand over mine as he continued speaking to Aim. I just blushed, looking at my food.

Once he was done, he hung up, filling me in on the conversation. The boys were apparently going to a bar post dinner, and they were asking for recommendations as Park had forgotten the name of this particular place. I nodded as I listened, soon just focusing on the different facial expressions that played out on Lam's face as he spoke.

I realized I was not tired of looking at his face and feel like I could do it day in and day out.

"I can definitely do this, day in and day out."

"Huh, do what, P?"

"Looking at your face, day in and day out."

I muttered absently, not realizing the enormity of my words. Lam just looked at me, stunned and shook me gently. That's when I realized, shit.

I couldn't even look at Lam after that, but the silence was anything but stifling. It just felt comfortable, amusing, maybe. But God.

How do I look at him in the eye now?
