~~The world is so pale next to you~~
The bright light on the sunshine blared in my eyes. I grumbled, slowly sitting up. Nick sat next to me, staring off into the endless blue sea.
"Mornin'. Well, more like afternoon." He smiled at me. Afternoon? How long did I sleep? "I was going to wake you but I figured you'd need the sleep."
"How long have you been sitting here?" I mumbled. I struggled to get the sleep out of my eyes. I wasn't much of a morning person, or in this case, an afternoon person.
"A few hours. You're a pretty sleeper." He flirted. Nick was a huge flirt; it was one of the first things I noticed when I met him. I dramatically rolled my eyes, attempting to brush off the fact that my face was bright red.
We spent the majority of the day lounging around the yacht. Madison prepared a little platter of fruit for Nick, Alicia and I, which we gratefully ate. Alicia kept disappearing. To go check the radio, I assumed.
On a normal day I'd be mind numbingly bored. But I was ecstatic to just be somewhere safe with everyone; with Nick. We had no idea where or what the next location would bring. I just hoped it wouldn't bring more death.
There was a not-so-subtle tension within the group. Mainly between Strand and Alicia. He took every opportunity to scold her about 'her friends on the radio.' She ignored him, which of course only made the man more angry.
"Hey." I greeted Ofelia as she joined Nick, Alicia and I on the deck. "How's your shoulder?"
"Much better. Don't worry about it." She responded, a graceful smile on her face. "Have you guys talked to Chris at all? I'm worried about him."
"Me too." Alicia mumbled.
"I haven't. Not since we were on the Zodiac yesterday." I responded.
It was nice getting to know Ofelia. The Salazar's often kept to themselves, especially after the loss of Grizelda. Upon speaking with Ofelia I had learnt Daniel used to be an ex CIA back in El Salvador before settling down in L.A, becoming a barber. Opening up their own shop, the one the Manawa's had seeked shelter in.
Daniel being ex CIA made a lot of sense to me. He seemed persistent in being self-sufficient. Not once asking the other group members for help. He often pushed this belief onto Ofelia as well.

"We'll be docking for the night. In hopes we lose Alicia's 'friends'." Strand spoke from the top deck. He glared at Alicia, who was sitting with Nick and I on the deck below.
Although the boat was nice, I was looking forward to being on solid ground for a bit. Not excited about the infected, though.
It took a few hours to find a place to dock. Upon nightfall we had finally made it to a nearby island; Catrina island. I eagerly departed from the boat. I had gotten used to the slight movement of the yacht, so once reaching solid ground, my legs resembled jelly.
