(Back to Bridgette's pov)
When I wake up the next day I have the worst hangover. Luckily I did take aspirin, somehow I at least remembered to do that.
I can't remember anything after the party last night, im not even sure how I got home.
Suddenly I get a text from Lacy who apparently is just as hungover as I am.

LACY: Girl im so hungover,wbu?
ME: Girl I dont even remember how I got home last night.
LACY: I think Mateo brought you home
ME: Ohh

That was nice of him, I guess.

I stayed in my room the entire day on sunday because I could not let my mom know that I had a hangover.
Then she would find out that I snuck out to go to a party, and she would kill me.
Since Mateo and I became friends, he always waits for me after fourth period so we can study together at lunch.
Although, the following monday at school he doesnt show up. So instead I just sit with all my friends as per usual.
When I get to Mateo's house after school for tutoring, the one that answers the door is infact not Mateo, but Alice.
"Hi!" She says. "Come in! I have some questions for you."
"Oh, okay." I reply, wondering where Mateo is.
I take a seat in their living room as Alice fixes a couple glasses of club soda.
"Thank you." I say, taking a drink.
"Your welcome." She sits down and eyes me. "Did you have fun at the party last night?"
"Uh- yeah, I had fun." I say, confused.
"Hmm, thats good. What about Mateo? Did he have fun?"
I give her a confused look. "I dont think he came to the party."
"He drove you home though." She says before taking a drink of her soda. "And I mean, he was gone for quite a while, isnt your house close?"
Suddenly I get the hint. "What are you implying?"
She tilts her head, giving me an 'I know what you've been up to' kind of look. "What do you think?"
"I-" I give her a 'knock it off' kind of look. "He was just droppng me off."
"Mhm." She says. "Well, Mateo's upstairs. Good luck!"
She walks away with a grin on her face.
I head upstairs to Mateo's room and knock on the door.
When he opens it he smiles and says "You're late."
"Yeah." I say. "Alice was just asking me some..questions."
He frowns. "She what?"
"Nothing."

Since the moment our tutoring session started, Mateo has been off.
I start to think that its been weird since sunday morning when I woke up with a hangover.
Did something happen after the party?
"Uh..Mateo?" I say, trying to get his attention away from algebra.
"Yeah?"
"D- did something happen saturday night?" I ask. "Everyones been acting weird."
He laughs. "Do you think something happened?"
"Well, yeah. I do."
He just laughs.
"Why are you laughing?" I yell. "What are you not telling me?"
He scoots his chair closer to mine. "Bridgette. You seriously dont remember?"
"Remember what?" I whine.
"After the party, you made me lie to your mom and then-"
He pauses for a while and just laughs so I ask him "Then..what?"
"And then, you kissed me."
Um what? WHAT?
My mouth drops wide open. "I- I did what?"
He just laughs as I completely lose it in my head. "Are you good?"
"Im sorry for um- doing that. I was drunk." I try to explain.
"I know." He says.
"I mean, I completely lost my mind."
"I know." He says again.
"We just did so many 'congratulatory shots' and I got absolutely wasted."
"I know." He repeats.
"And we just-"
"Bridgette!" He yells, laying a hand on my shoulder. "I know. It's alright."
"But-"
"It was a mistake, Bridgette." He says.
But I dont believe that. They say that people are most honest when their drunk.
"I think I need to find a different tutor." I say.
He does a double take. "What?"
"I just dont want you to feel uncomfortable at all." I try to explain to him. "I think its best if I find a different tutor."
I attempt to leave but he grabs my wrist and pulls me back. "Thats unnecessary, Bridgette. It was just a kiss."
"Not for me." I say. "Im sorry."
