You would think on a normal weekend, you could just go home and relax right?

For hyunjin, it was supposed to be the same.

WRONG.

As he's stated before, his parents would literally kill him considering he hasn't been home in about 2 days. And he didn't know what to expect when he got there.

He was thankful that Seungmin had walked him home, he needed moral support for the scolding he was about to receive.

Part of him hoped that his parents weren't home.

"Mom, dad?" He called out, not forgetting to take off his shoes, sliding them by the door before tip toeing into the living room.

"I didn't think you would show up." A voice called out from behind him, which belonged to his father.

Neither did I..

He turned around to see his father, standing there, drinking a warm cup of coffee. His mother sitting down on the couch, and yeji standing by the stairs with her head down.

He knew he was in trouble, but he didn't expect for his father to be the one that was going to scold him.

"Let me have it already."

"Explain yourself."

"I've been out with friends, I didn't want to call you because I was afraid that you'd be disappointed in me."

Afraid was an understatement, but he still felt like he wasn't in the wrong.

His parents has trapped him and isolated him his whole life, telling him right from wrong and he believed it for all these years.

Now that he's finally learned what happiness is truly is, he couldn't care less about what they were gonna do.

"So instead of calling us and letting us know that you were okay, you ditched yeji at the game and ran off with your friends?"

"I never ditched her? Yeji what is he talking about." He looked over to his sister, but she wouldn't speak.

"That's besides the point. You lied to us, didn't show up for days, and didn't even have the decency to call."

"Look I'm sorry.."

"You're grounded, if that's the most easiest way I can say this. I don't want you talking to those boys again, and I don't want you going out at night by yourself anymore."

"I said I was sorry, what more do you want from me?"

"I want you to change."

"Dad, please don't do this."

"Hyunjin dear, it's for the best and I'd advise you to listen to your father. He cares about you more than anything on this planet.."

"Yeah well if he cared about me that much he wouldn't be trying to isolate me."

Hyunjin raced up to his room, locking his door, and jumping onto his bed. Tears were already spilling out of his eyes, but he didn't care.

He was so tired of his parents always taking him away from everything he loved. His friends, his social life, Chan.

His mind was blank and he was full of emotions, but he snapped out of his small trance as his phone suddenly rung.

CALL FROM:
channie-hyung 💕

ANSWER?:
YES ✅ | NO 🚫

As much as he wanted to respond, he couldn't. Even though his parents have practically ruined his life, he didn't want to go against anymore of their wishes

It will only make things even worse for him than they already are.

"Jinnie? Can I come in?" A voice called out, he recognized yeji's voice, but she was the last person he wanted to talk to.

"Why can't everyone just leave me alone, no I don't want you to come in."

"Please... I'll explain myself, I just can't lay in bed at night without saying something to you."

She was genuinely worried, and Hyunjin obviously knew that so he had no other choice but to let her in.

Yeji slowly opened the door, and even from a distance Hyunjin could tell she had been crying.

"I know you're mad at me and I would probably be mad at myself too but I really want you to hear me out."

"You're already in here for the reason so go ahead."

"I-I didn't mean to rat you out. I swear. Dad had asked me if I'd seen you since we were all very worried, at first I didn't want to tell him but I was so pressured I felt like I had to tell him."

"So?"

"So I told him I saw you at the game and that you ran off with your friends, but I promise you that I tried to stop him. I told him that I didn't know if that was you for sure but he wouldn't listen, and that happened.."

"Well my life is basically ruined, I can't see my friends anymore, just trapped in this crappy room all day. Thanks a lot yeji."

"Hyunjin.."

"I just don't understand. Why is this bullshit always happening to me? I mean, I try to be there for everyone even I have things going on, and all I get in return is yelled at, and being forced to stay inside against my will."

"You did nothing, at all. We all deserve a little freedom, and so what if you went overboard a little? B-But I think you need to understand Dad's side. He was really worried about you."

"Yeah. He was so worried about me that he didn't even call me. He was so worried about me that he didn't even bother to look for me himself."

"You know I don't mean it like that."

"Dad only needs me for his image, that's it. Our family was so praised in our old town, and now that this town is even bigger, he feels intimidated."

Yeji sighed, "I know you're upset, but at least think about it. He can't stay mad at you forever."

Hyunjin rubbed his eyes, laying back onto his bed. Everything was a complete mess now, and he didn't know where to start.

He knew one thing he couldn't do, and that is mess up his relationship with his friends or Chan.
