"Welcome to the League of Villains, Vixen"

The League of Villains, this is where I belong

The man sitting on the chair stands up and walks over to me. He removes the hand covering his face, revealing his crimson eyes that hid behind his hair.

"I'm Tomura Shigaraki, glad to have you Vixen."

the girl speaks up next "Himiko Toga" She lets out a giggle "I'm sure we'll be the best of friends"

"Kurogiri, a pleasure" The man at the bar speaks up next and continues with the glass he's been cleaning.

"Thank you for having me. If you'd like, I have information on the top heroes as well as their sidekicks"

I've had it with the heroes

I've had it with people

I'm done being the puppet

Now, I'll become the puppeteer

~Hawks' POV - two hours earlier~

I slam the door to my room shut letting out a deep sigh and running my hands through my hair

Lately, Y/n has been acting strangely. She hasn't been the same since the day of the hero awards. She's more closed off and hardly speaks to me. Her words are laced with frustration and sass, and I have no idea what has changed.

"I don't understand women one bit" I take off my shirt and lay on my bed, taking the chance to stretch my wings. Reaching for my phone I notice the notifications of new articles about both the hero world, and normal world around us.

"News on the economy...not interesting at all. Reality TV show couples breaking up...not my vibe. UA History...no thanks."

Suddenly the next headline catches my eye and makes me stop scrolling

"Pro heroes Hawks and Mirko seen together, while Sidekick H/n hasn't been seen"

Without thinking I click on the article and begin reading

While villain attacks have been on the rise it's common that some heroes have been teaming up with others. What is uncommon however, is a hero's official sidekick not being seen with said hero.
Recently, eyewitnesses have stated seeing heroes Hawks and Mirko taking on missions and doing patrol together while H/n has only been seen in the public a handful of times this week
Eyewitnesses have also stated that Hawks and Mirko have been seen at coffee shops laughing and joking, showing they appear to have good chemistry

'for the love of all things in this world that was one time we happened to run into each other before patrol'

We have deduced that this could mean two different things: One—Hawks and Mirko's compatibility points to something beyond coworkers and friends—Two—Hawks is looking to replace his sidekick H/n

As always, dear readers, we will give you the scoop as soon as we hear it so stay tuned

"That's just bs. I've known Mirko for years and she is not in the least bit interested in me. And why would I replace Y/n as my sidekick? I picked her for a reason"

Yet for some reason, deep inside me worry found its way through. I asked Y/n to be my intern because I knew there was more to her than she led on. I knew she had the potential to be great. And I wanted to help her get there. As I got to know her, my feelings for her grew and what I felt far surpassed that of how a boss should feel for his employee.

That's why I asked her to move in here. That's why I've been trying to keep her out of danger.

The penthouse is silent. I open the door slightly to see the light off in the room Y/n was in. Assuming she went to sleep I close the door quietly once again and throw myself back onto the bed. As I close my eyes I can't shake the feeling of nervousness that slowly seeps through my certain mind.

Has she been seeing these articles too? I wonder how she feels about them if she has. More than anything I want to protect her. What she went through in middle school is something that she never should've had to experience, nor do I want that to happen again to her. If the press found out about our relationship they would tear her apart. After all, in their eyes, she's just my sidekick. Fresh sidekick out of UA that doesn't know much about the world, nor is she someone they can trust yet. They would accuse her of things I don't even want to think about and her hero career would be over just like that.

It's my feelings that got her into this, I can't let her fall because I didn't control myself.

With that final thought I close my eyes and go to rest, trying to sleep off my worries.

~The Next Morning~

Morning comes all too quickly. My alarm goes off signaling my time to get ready to go on patrol with Mirko once again. Letting out a sigh I force myself up, thoughts wandering back to Y/n and how I can make things right between us. I didn't react kindly out of frustration, but that isn't her fault, nor should I have handled it as if it was.

After changing into my hero costume, I walk across the hall and knock on her door.

"Y/n are you awake? I'm sorry about how I acted toward you last night. I shouldn't have taken my frustration out on you."

Silence

"Y/n?"

I open the door quietly in case she was still asleep, only to see a completely tidy room as if no one had been in here for hours. The bed was made, dresser cleaned off completely and no evidence someone lived in this room.

The worry I felt last night slowly comes back as I walk through the penthouse realizing she isn't anywhere to be found

Without thinking I fly out the window quickly finding Y/n's contact and calling her, only for the call not to go through. Confused I try again and again only to hear the same message every time

The number you are trying to reach is out of service

'where is she? did something happen when I was asleep? There was no evidence that someone broke in last night, nor were there any signs that there was a fight. Her phone is also out of service so....'

"Hawks!" A shout from below snaps me out of my thoughts and to the voice who called my name. Mirko waves me down from the sidewalk, motioning for me to go to her. "I thought we were meeting at the agency but you were already in the skies before I got there."

"Yeah...H/n is missing."

"What?!" Mirko's mouth gapes as she runs her hand through her hair. "How? When?"

"Not sure..." I trail off . "Mirko look, I need to tell you something that might hint toward where she is but I don't know. I want to tell you because you're one of the only people I can trust."

She nods and I take a deep breath. "H/n, or rather Y/n and I have been living together for the past few months. We have an established relationship but never told anyone because I told her that its better not to. Last night she was there before I went to sleep but when I woke up she was gone. Her room was cleaned, almost like no one lived there."

Mirko closes her eyes and doesn't say anything. I hold my breath, ready for any sort of backlash she might throw at me. At this point though, I don't care, I just need to find her.

"I won't question your decisions. That's between you and H/n. For now, we need as much help as we can get to find her. Let's search the city and check the penthouse again later. If we still don't find her, we'll have to let the other heroes know. For her safety."

"Right"
