After taking down one last trooper, the batch made their way into the engine of the ship. It was an old, destroyed ship, so it would simply make for an easy exit.
"Kiv, if you could alert us of any troopers-" Hunter started, turning to look at her behind him. Only she wasn't behind him. "Kiv?" The batch looked around.
"I swear she was with us," Echo said.
"Where is she?" Hunter asked. "Where is she?! Find her, Tech," he ordered.
"Status report."
"There's no sign of them, sir. They're avoiding the choke points."
"And the Jedi?"
"Already on board the shuttle."
"Good."
Hunter and Tech exchanged glances. Hunter turned back forward and continued silently through the ion engine chamber. He would find a way to get her back without losing the rest of his team.
He wouldn't let the Empire have her.
They wouldn't find her. They couldn't. Not after she was already in the Empire's grasp.
Kiv pulled herself back into consciousness for barely 30 seconds while being taken to a shuttle. She was being carried by two troopers, another one behind her with a gun trained on her. She couldn't do anything. The Batch couldn't do anything. She wondered where they were. Hopefully far away, on the other side of the cruiser. She wondered if they had even realized she was gone. Had any of them seen her be taken? Did any of them even care? They were of course safer without her traveling with them. Maybe they didn't care. Maybe they didn't even notice she was gone.
"No..." Kiv groaned, just before returning to unconsciousness.
This time when she woke up, she was in an imperial facility. Where she was, she had no clue, but the design and build of the walls was very imperial. She went to sit up, finding herself restricted to the table she was laid on. She groaned, yanking on the binds.
"Good," a voice from the door. Kiv snapped her head to the side, her eyes finding a twi'lek imperial officer. "You're awake."
"Where are my friends?" Kiv asked.
"Friends? I suppose you don't need to worry for them," she said, a gross smile present on her face.
"They're okay?" Kiv felt weak. Even just speaking felt draining. She felt covered in bruises, which she probably was. She got the idea the imperials didn't care if she got a few scratches while being dragged around their facility.
"I can't promise that, my dear," the twi'lek woman said. "Now, to business. The Emperor has granted me access to you for three days, before he will come to collect you. You have three days to answer my questions, or he will be informed that you will be of no use to him. Understood?"
Kiv grunted in response.
The twi'lek smiled. "Now, you mentioned your friends. That is Clone Force 99, I presume?"
Kiv refused to acknowledge. She wouldn't give in. Not to the Empire. Not to the Emperor. She'd die before she gave in to them.
The twi'lek snarled. "Answer me! The "Bad Batch", as they call themselves?"
The blank stare Kiv was giving the lady seemed to only anger her more, as she stomped over to the table. She reached over, moving Kiv's right pant leg up. She quickly plunged her finger into her blaster fire wound from earlier. Kiv cried out in pain, bucking against the bonds confining her.
The twi'lek pulled her hand away after a few moments, leaning close into Kiv's face.
"That," she spat. "Is only a fraction of what I will do to you if you do not answer me again, Jedi."
The twi'lek stomped out of the room. "I'll be back. And it would be in your best interest to answer me next time." She slammed the door shut.
Kiv whimpered, letting herself relax for a moment.
She had to make sure they were safe.
She had never done this type of force work before, and she was already weak. It was risky, but she had to do it.
Kiv closed her eyes, blocking out as much light as possible. She reached out in the force, searching for Hunter and the others' energies. They all seemed off. Hunters' was very disheveled and... injured? While that was not ideal, and stressed Kiv out, at least he wasn't anywhere near her. That meant he was temporarily safe from the Empire.
The woman came back. This time she had an imperial droid with her. But it wouldn't work. This woman had never dealt with a Jedi like Kiv. She wouldn't break. Not for something as simple as her own pain. And this woman would never realize that.
Over the next three days, the woman returned just about every hour, except for night time. The only other person Kiv saw was the trooper guarding her door. He brought her food, and sometimes she almost thought he felt bad for her. He was gentle when he gave her food. He would have to help her eat, of course, because the twi'lek woman demanded she stay binded to the table at all times. She didn't trust Kiv's Jedi powers.
One time when the clone entered the room with her food, it was the third day, Kiv was almost sure, though she had lost track of time, she spoke to him.
"What is your name?" she asked him. He faltered, before placing the food tray down on the table next to her. "You seem to know me," she added after he didn't respond.
"CC-1119," he said, trying to feed her some of the food.
Kiv smiled. "Appo."
He faltered, refusing to acknowledge.
"Appo, you know me," Kiv continued. "Why don't you help me out, help me escape-"
"I can't do that," he said quietly. He stood, and though she had barely eaten anything that day, he left the room.
"Appo-" the door slammed shut. "Dammit."
He didn't come back.
The next time the door opened, it was a group of unmarked clones along with the twi'lek.
"You may administer the tranquilizer," she ordered.
One of the clones stepped forward, holding a syringe in hand.
"What is that?" This was it. She was finally leaving this twi'lek woman, but Kiv figured she was going somewhere much worse. She figured it was time to meet the Emperor. "No... no, no-"
One of the clones grabbed her head, holding it as still as he could with her bucking like she was. The other clone quickly injected the serum into her neck, which started working almost immediately. She reached out in her last waking moment, finding Hunter's energy through the force. She sent as much as she could to him, though she was fearful it wasn't nearly enough.
Kiv.
She smiled in her last moment of consciousness, knowing she had reached him.
