"I can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen."

"It's like... Like, impending doom."

"I'll be gone some day."

"You're going to miss me so bad when I'm gone, Megatronous."

Her words plagued him in his every waking moment, the same way her lips haunted him. Megatron would even go as far as to say he could still just barely feel the gentle graze of her flesh against his own.

It all swirled together, violently turning into a void to suck him beneath the surface, suffocating, and swallowing him whole.

He lived, breathed, and existed for her. Lauren alone. Something beyond his power and control also seemed to whisper to him that she had been what he was living for all along.

'Impending doom', she'd stated before. He hadn't grasped her paranoia at that time, but somewhere deep down he could feel oblivion beckoning at him with dangerous persuasion. That feeling ebbed at his spark and it was all he could do to force the feeling away in an attempt to not only spare himself the trouble, but her, too.

And still, her words gnawed at his spark. Megatron couldn't rid himself of the sound of her voice even if he wanted. He wouldn't.

Crimson optics trailed her every movement as she worked diligently, studying the care in which her digits maneuvered with long honed skill. The way she worked tirelessly was admirable in its own right.

Something had shifted between the two that neither parties had acknowledged outwardly. There was no need, they both knew and had made their peace with the subtle development. His spark fluttered gently within his spark chamber. The decepticon clenched his denta together, his jaw terse and servos wound tight.

"I let it fall, my heart. And as it fell, you rose to claim it. It was dark and I was over. Until you kissed my lips and you saved me."

Lauren sang along to the music openly, her pitch nor volume quite too loud, but in sync with the song. Unkempt brows knit themselves together as she focused, eyes unblinking.

"My hands, they were strong, but my knees were far too weak. To stand in your arms without falling your feet."

Laserbeak gave a sudden squawk-hiss as the brunette snagged an adjacent wire on the underside of the avian's wing. "Better watch your fingers, human. Or I will have to relieve you of them."

"Sorry." She conceited without much thought. Did she mean it? Partly, yes, though the apology wasn't delivered with much sympathy. The bird con was far more similar to his organic counterpart than she'd like to admit.

"But, I set fire to the rain. Watched it pour as I touched your face. Well, it burned while I cried. 'Cause I heard it screaming our your name. Your name."

Much to her surprise, It'd only taken the bot an hour to quit complaining about her singing. She'd almost worked lazily out of spite, until she saw the way the avian shrank back, injured wing folded in on himself as if to protect it. The sight made her heart sore despite her better judgement.

He truly was a traumatized animal. Wild, cunning, and primal. It made him appear more human than most others she'd met, even if said animal did threaten the very beat of her heart.

It was her fault he'd been hurt and she'd correct it, do right by him (despite his protests).

"I could stay there. Close my eyes, feel you here forever. You and me together, nothing is better."

The dirtied woman sang in tune as she used a gentle hand to tend to some mangled wires. Laserbeak kept his neck and head coiled back, like a cobra ready to strike with needle fangs and the venom to match, but he did no such thing. Perhaps, he wanted to, she didn't doubt that, but the avian was also far too smart to sign his life over to Primus just yet. He knew how to play the cards he'd been dealt with dangerous calculation.
