The entirety of that night was spent in relative silence with only the steady sound of Lauren's breathing to fill the space.
Blackout kept her close- warm and protected from any and everything the universe had to offer. Shielded her small, fragile form with that of his own with no regard for his own wellbeing or health.
Selfless.
It was a word that was foreign to many (if not all) decepticons; selflessness. To be more concerned with the needs and wishes of another than with one's own was an entirely alien concept, but then again, not much seemed to surprise the hunter any more in regards to her.
Just how alien she was, too.
Megatron hadn't reappeared for the remainder of that joor, but the chopper knew that he was in a foul standing.
On the contrary, Shockwave made a deliberate reappearance, busy with his own workings. The hunter paid little mind to the visored con.
The femme was feeling poorly, too, if her stirring was any indication to her inner turmoil. The mech had been perplexed at her searching hands in the throws of unconsciousness; seeking warmth, sleepily wandering to pull herself closer to him- to Megatron. Of who he was not, but how was she to know while she slumbered?
He'd cradled her closer in those moments, careful not to crush her small form with his unmitigated strength.
Online he remained all through the night, ruby optics scanning the immediate area every other klik for signs of danger or threat. To his fortune, none presented themselves, at least, none that he could defend her from. Many a time his optics flicked down to gage her status and the femme rested well for the most part, save for the odd times her visage scrunched harshly, contorting her delicate features into that of an emotion he couldn't properly name, but he knew it wasn't preferable.
What was it she dreamt? What was it that seemed to torment her silently?
The questions remained unanswered even after she rose the following joor, but the hunter did note the weight that seemed to sag her shoulders down and her resigned expression as she took a gander at her surroundings as though searching for something- someone.
Blackout was certain he knew what it was she looked for and readily set her back upon the Earth's crust. Part of him was relieved to rid himself of her weight, inconsequential as it was.
"Do not allow past misgivings to taint the ones you have yet to create, fleshy. Do not do as we have done. Go. Now."
With that, and a ping to his hailing frequency, he gave a dismissive wave of his hand before stalking off to answer the call of Shockwave, though his attention never truly left her even as the distance grew between them. Distracted, he met the scientist.
Lauren felt his words strike her pointedly, as though he'd read her like a page within a book; clearly and with dangerous ease. The brunette felt the need to remind herself that he was, in fact, a predator with the instincts to match. Sapphire eyes panned toward the ship almost like a magnet had pulled her sights there physically and, in a way, they had.
The pull within her chest served to guide her, as it always had. An invisible string tethered to her very being to which she obeyed, allowing the pull to steer her back toward him.
Her head hurt, pounded inside the confines of her skull relentlessly. Weather it was from her hangover or the crying she'd done last night, she didn't know, but figured it had to be a combination of the two. Her sleep did little in the way of replenishing her energy, only making her more restless.
There had been no dreams or anything at all, really. Her head space had been dark and scarce of her sparkmate's presence.
Alone. She'd felt completely alone, but wasn't that was she'd wanted?
