Hey... I'm so sorry I disappeared again... My life has been so hectic. I moved states again, my step parents postponed their wedding (not bad), I transferred to a new job location, and I'm currently in training for pre-military. I swear I haven't forgotten any of you or about this story, in truth I've had 90% of this chapter in my notes for months, but didn't feel it had enough substance to post, so I waited and I'm glad I did because I think the chapter turned out well.

I also may have strayed away from Transformers and (somehow) fell back into my Hunter x Hunter phase? I'm so sorry I have been hooked on Feitan, Hisoka, and Illumi, I need a fucking leash. So, I ended up revisiting an old fic I was writing (never published) and yeah, been all over the place.

I'm really sorry. I promise thus fic isn't abandoned and I still love all of you and reread old comments all the time <3

"...are you sure she's not your conjunx?"

It'd been one week, seven joors exactly, since that night with Dispatch. One week since those few words strung together to dangle just above his helm, like a taunt. It didn't mean anything, the words, but loom on his conscious they did.

Why? He had no definitive answer and somehow that was worse than the weighted implications the sentence carried.

He didn't know why it bothered him so much.

And, it wasn't the implication that she was his that troubled him, no. So, what? What was it?

Blackout vented harshly as he walked the properties perimeter, though in reality he was really just stalking along the tree line. With Dispatch's impromptu (and unwelcomed) reappearance, the hunter was made starkly aware that there was a small statistical probability of the event repeating, despite Megatron's absolute orders.

Though, one thing was for certain; there absolutely would not be a repeat of the events that took place just over a week ago.

Blackout had began lingering closer, his guard held higher than ever and his attention directed toward her indefinitely.

Nothing would become of her.

And, if it did-- to the pits with Primus-- he would snuff out his own spark, because not only would he have failed her, but himself too.

Megatron never came into the equation for the hunter.

He's not here.

The constant reminder was almost bitter in nature, but all that reserved negativity swiftly bled away when Lauren occupied his company. With her to look after and exist alongside him, staying on Earth wasn't that bad.

Did he like it? No, he didn't. Did he like her?

Blackout's optics narrowed dangerously as he stalked about, his processor churning with thoughts as his spark flared up as if to pull him back to reality. Bristled as if to burn him for daring to ponder the thought of getting too close.

Did he like her...?

Beyond the walls of her home, Lauren gazed down at the few articles of clothing she owned, her towel nearly slipping from the protective tuck beneath her arms.

The brunette, with wet stringy hair clinging to her moist skin, grimaced at the pile her life had been reduced to; stolen items, and the literal clothes off the backs of others. None of it, save for her boots, were hers. Yes, she'd acquired several of her own basic additions in the long months- a pair of underwear here, and a cheap pair of sleep pants one size too big there, though, a hefty bulk of her clothing came in the way of gifts from Tessa (on Cade's dime, she was sure), all of which she'd hardly glanced at. Hell, everything still had their tags and stickers. It's not that the clothes were ugly, she wasn't ungrateful, nor were the clothes ill fitting, contrary to belief, some things would probably be too big in her slimmer state.
