CHAPTER 13: Love for a singer

Once Ash won his last gym badge in Virbank City, the young man with hat was ready to enter the Unova League, but the competition would start in three more months, so the three trainers decided to go for an ice cream and think about what to do now. At the ice cream stand, they could meet Cynthia, the champion of the Sinnoh region, who was in Unova to participate in an exhibition match of the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup, which will be in Lacunosa Town in Eastern Unova. Anyone could enter and compete, the winner will have the privilege of facing Alder, champion of the Unova region, and Ash, Iris, and Cilan would participate.

Along with Cynthia, the three trainers went in car to the port where they could go on plane to Eastern Unova, but on the way they found a Pokémon in middle of the road. They stopped abruptly and saw the Pokémon, which was injured. Ash realized that he had seen that Pokémon before, it was the same Pokémon that he found when they were making a film in Virbank City, he saved it from being crushed by some wood planks. The Sinnoh champion said that it was a Meloetta, an extremely rare Pokémon to see. Everyone had to help it.

Cyinthia took the first aid kit from her car and laid a sheet on the side of the road. Ash gently put the injured Pokémon there. The woman from Sinnoh used a Potion on the wound to make it heal. She asked to the trainers that if they could look for an Oran Berry, Iris and Cilan chose to search for one, while Ash and Cynthia stayed taking care of the Pokémon. It had fever, so they went to a near river to freeze a bit of water, thanks to the champion's Glaceon. There they were able to get a little bit of ice and put in a bag. They returned where Meloetta was and put the bag with ice under its head. It was going to recover soon.

Just then, someone called Cynthia on the cellphone. She had to return to Virbank City, there was a matter of great importance, so she let Ash and Pikachu in charge of Meloetta while she wasn't present. Once she left the place, Ash's Oshawott came out from his Poké Ball. He was sniffing something. He felt a very extravagant aroma. Were the bushes of the road? No, it was something stranger. He felt the smell of ice, but it wasn't what he was searching for. The otter wanted to follow the smell that caught his attention, he was close. He opened his eyes and saw in front of him a Pokémon that he had never seen before. It was a white-skinned Pokémon and green hair. It was over a sheet and with a bag with ice under its head.

The water type was very intrigued by the new Pokémon. Was it unconscious? He didn't know, it didn't seem to move. The Pokémon moved later, it was just resting, he thought. That Pokémon turned around to rest on its right side. Oshawott saw its face. It was a very strange Pokémon. He realized that it was a female Pokémon, female face and voice, long and beautiful hair. It had to be a girl. A pretty girl that was in front of him. The otter was madly in love of her. It was so much that he fell on his back for love.

Ash noticed that the ice in the bag had melted, so he went to the river to get a little more. He left Oshawott in charge of Meloetta, the otter was still with the emotion of meeting and falling in love with a very pretty Pokémon. He would stay taking care of her while Ash and Pikachu looked for more ice. Oshawott was going to take care of her very well. Now the Sea Otter Pokémon was alone with Meloetta, he was appreciating her all the time. That cute face, that pretty hair, that beautiful voice, she was the perfect girl for him. He imagined how lucky he was by meeting a very cute girl like Meloetta. He imagined himself like a Pokémon that rescued the pretty girl from danger and took her to his house to heal her wounds. He thought that it would get to the point where she, after all what her caregiver had made, she would fall in love madly of him. He was in heaven.

Meanwhile, Iris and Cilan found an Oran berry tree that was up of a cliff, but with help from Iris's Emolga they were able to get one. The sky squirrel carried the branch with the berry in her mouth. After returning, they found Ash in the river getting ice from an extract of frozen water. Iris said to her Emolga that they would see them in the other side, and Emolga went flying where Oshawott and Meloetta were.

When she arrived where the paved road was, she saw the two Pokémon. Oshawott couldn't believe it and couldn't contain the emotion, he had a pretty girl under his care and only for him. Emolga saw how he was behaving so childish, as if he was a great fan of a famous singer. 'Poor little thing, was he so desperate to get a girlfriend?' Emolga thought. It made her remember that time where she rejected his engagement proposal so he stopped to bother her. No matter, she had to reach where they were.

When she hovered in the air, a stream of air made Emolga destabilize and she started to fall down. Oshawott looked up and saw Emolga fall, she crashed her head with Oshawott's head. The hit was so hard that left them on the ground, knocked out. The Oran berry fell next to Meloetta. She noticed that and the two Pokémon that were knocked out one next to each other. What happened to them? What were they doing there? It didn't matter, the fever went down and she felt a little better. She got up from the sheet and went, with the berry, floating to another place, leaving Oshawott and Emolga alone. Afterwards, they got up much sore in the head by the collision. Oshawott said to Emolga, angry. "Emolga, watch where you land." Emolga responded, also angry: "You should have gotten out of there, Oshawott." The otter said later, angrier. "You should have been more careful when landing!" And the sky squirrel said, angrier: "You shouldn't have gotten on my way!"

The anger was such that the two started to fight attacking with their paws. The three trainers saw them fight and went towards them. When they were about to separate them both, a voice was heard, a voice that was singing in a very melodious and beautiful way. It was comforting and calming. Very harmonic and tranquil. That made Oshawott and Emolga calm themself from their fight. Everyone wondered where that beautiful voice came from, until Cynthia, who returned from the important matter, came to said that it was Meloetta. She also said that Meloetta's singing could calm hearts, like she did with Oshawott and Emolga. Ash thanked shouting to Meloetta, wherever she was. At least she had recovered at all. Oshawott was fascinated for what that Pokémon did that sang so beautifully, it was a shame that she had gone to the forest, but something said to him that they would see her again later. Everyone continued with the trip towards the airport with destination to Undella Town.
