CHAPTER 15: Self-improvement

It was a nice day near the beach, Ash and Iris were training with their Pokémon for the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. Ash was training with Oshawott hitting a target in a buoy on the water, while Iris was training with Excadrill and Axew in a battle. Everyone seemed to be doing their stuff, however, Dawn, with Piplup, which wore a lifebelt, proposed to go to a desert island that, according to Jervis, a special Onix was in there. In the beginning Ash didn't want to go, but after mentioning the special Onix he accepted the idea along the others. The boat was ready to go to the island, Meloetta also wanted to go with them. Oshawott and Piplup were delighted that their girl was going to go with them. They thought it was a good opportunity to be next to the Melody Pokémon, of course, except for the competition that they had between them. Oshawott still wanted to get Meloetta's heart as he could, only Piplup was the biggest obstacle that he had in that moment. He would fight any fierce battle against his rival to get the love of his girl.

After set sail and travel the sea, they were able to arrive the island where Onix lived, they would be there with hopes to see that special Onix, which it said it brought good luck. Everyone got off the boat excited to explore the island full of mysteries, and dangers. Jervis would pick them up before dinner, and warned that they had to be very careful as they were there. That made the trainers worry a little. After getting out of the boat, the Pokémon wanted to play in the sand a little bit. Axew, Pansage and Piplup were doing a hillock of sand while Pikachu and Meloetta were watching them having fun. Oshawott, meanwhile, was trying to catch Krabby, but, unexpectedly, the crab got angry for being run about and grabbed the otter's tail with one of its pincers. That made Oshawott run in pain still having the Krabby grabbed by his tail. All the others laughed for the funny scene.

Piplup was the one who laughed the most, seeing his rival having a bad day it was very pleasant for him, but he didn't notice that something had grabbed by the head and raised him a little, that took him out from his lifebelt. After he was released, the penguin got mad at the one who had grabbed his head, but he didn't notice either that the Pokémon who made it was a Kingler. It was very big for Piplup, he was very scared by having a big Pokémon in front of him. He had to run away from there, running for his life while Kingler pursued him, and if that wasn't enough, Oshawott who was with Krabby grabbed by his tail joined them. It was a bad day for both. Afterwards, the crab Pokémon left them alone. Piplup was tired from running and Oshawott was with his tail sore, it hurt and burned a lot, he thought that would leave a permanent mark.

In that moment, Ash was hungry. Cilan noticed it and said that he would prepare lunch, but as he was going to take a while, he said to the others to play in the meantime. Everyone enjoyed doing their things. As Cilan cooked, the girls played in the water, Ash was diving and seeing what it was underwater, and Pikachu was surfing with a wood plank that he found around there.

Meloetta was on a rock that jutted out from the sea, looking to the horizon. Piplup, who was in the water floating with the lifebelt worn, he thought it was the opportunity to be next with his lover for a while. He came closer with lovely reasons, but he was interrupted by Oshawott's Water Gun, who was playing and having fun. The penguin responded giving him a Hydro Pump in the face. The otter got angry as Piplup laughed at him. Both of them came closer to very mad and wanting to give a big beating to each other, but the tide carried them to another place.

After a while, lunch was ready, for both humans and Pokémon. In middle of the lunch, Oshawott had an idea, why not giving all his food to Meloetta so she falls in love with him? It sounded good, but he didn't know that Piplup also had the same idea. Both of them carried their bowl with food to their lover, they were arguing in a lower voice on the way. They didn't want to behave rudely to their future girlfriend. Meloetta turned around and saw Piplup and Oshawott offering their food to her. They showed their best face while they said at the same time: "I offer you my food, Meloetta."
