CHAPTER 19: Romance on the sea

It was late, and Ash, Iris and Cilan had already boarded the cruise with direction to the next island. Scalchop Island was left behind, where all his people saw Ash's Oshawott win and lose at the same time, especially, lose his perfect girl. He had her so close. He was very depressed to continue in the trip. The others tried to cheer him up. Ash, from one side, was happy because he could continue traveling with his Pokémon, but from the other side he was sad by the Oshawott's lost. They were at the edge of the cruise, seeing how the Scalchop Island was going far and far away, as Oshawott tried to heal his weak, broken heart, at the same time he tried to heal his scalchop in the same condition as his heart. It was broken in two, they stuck it with two adhesive tapes so none of the two parts were lost. According to Cilan, his scalchop was going to heal like his heart. The Sea Otter Pokémon was doubtful if that was going to happen. He was so sore in the inside that he couldn't continue in that condition. He hoped that everything improved over time, and that he returned to be the same Oshawott as before.

In middle of his sadness, Oshawott saw something passing in front of him. It was a grayish figure with white parts. It had a very beautiful feminine voice. That made call Oshawott's attention. He looked what it was: it was a Cinccino walking happily. The Sea Otter Pokémon was fallen in love madly by her cuteness. It seems that his broken heart had healed quicker than they thought. On an excited way, he ran after her. He magically appeared some flowers and chased her wherever she went to confess his sudden love. The chinchilla ran as quickly as possible so to escape from Oshawott, shouting: "Someone, help me! Get this crazy Pokémon away from me!" His human partners were impressed by how quick the otter recovered.

The water type Pokémon was chasing Cinccino a long while to declare his desperate love. The chinchilla ran at full speed to get rid Oshawott from her. They went around the whole cruise, from larboard to starboard and from prow to stern. They passed through all the halls of the means of transport. In middle of the chase, they passed through the main hall, where there was a bunch of people walking and others were standing watching their surroundings, enjoying the trip to the next destination. The space was very big and there were many people in that place. Cinccino tried to take the legs of the humans to her advantage to interrupt the otter's way. The Scarf Pokémon was doing quick dodges, passing through the people's legs to make the water type difficult to chase her.

He saw his love going through the forest of legs, some moved and others didn't. He had to pass through there if he didn't want to lose sight of his new girlfriend. His little race was almost interrupted by the inferior limbs of the humans. There were too many people there that couldn't pass between them. It seemed that he was going to lose Cinccino, but his love for her was still stronger. Oshawott tried to pass through that mess, it was difficult to do well having to dodge the legs and don't trip with the shoes. The otter stopped a little bit his path just to do that. In the forest of legs and shoes, he could see where Cinccino was going, she was going to where the dining hall was. He, incredibly, was dodging with much agility to get out from that hell. Now he went towards the dining hall.

The people and Pokémon were tranquilly eating in the tables, eating what the cooks aboard the cruise had prepared. Everything was calm, until it was interrupted by a Cinccino running and screaming desperately between the tables, and behind her was an Oshawott chasing her with a bouquet. The people were confused about what was happening. The situation got worse and worse. Cinccino went under the tables with the tablecloth to hide, but Oshawott followed there. The chinchilla went to hide in another table and the otter did the same. And so, they continued a couple times, annoying the people that were eating calmly. Afterwards, Cinccino went under a table and came out from the other side, Oshawott had no other better idea than go up the table and passing on it. That made ruin the food that the people were eating. The food, the plates, the drinks, the glasses, the cutlery, some just got knocked over and others fell to the floor. Those people were mad by what the Sea Otter Pokémon did.

Since going through the dining hall didn't work, the normal type Pokémon had to escape to another place. A cook came out from the kitchen to see why all the fuss. Cinccino took the open door to her advantage to enter to the kitchen, she thought that it was sure that she would get Oshawott lost there. The otter didn't give up and followed her entering in the kitchen as well. In that place was a small space area and very dangerous because of the sharp objects, fire and hot products. The chinchilla passed under the chefs, that made some of them be scared suddenly and dropped the stuff they had in their hands. The objects like plates, the trays, and the knives, fell to the floor. Oshawott was at the edge of danger by that; but, as if it was a miracle, the things fell down behind the Sea Otter Pokémon, who still wanted to be Cinccino's boyfriend. They went up the tables and the two Pokémon dropped everything on their path: the cutlery, the trays, the pots, the ingredients and many other things.

The Scarf Pokémon was still being chased by Oshawott, after both of them created a complete mess in the kitchen. Cinccino exited from there with the otter still following her. After a long persecution inside the cruise, they went to the outside. The chinchilla still was running to eventually escape from the infatuated Pokémon. They were in a side of the cruise, where some railings at the edge so the passengers could lean on there and don't fall out. There were also pillars that supported the upper structure of the cruise. The persecution continued until Cinccino turned to one side and Oshawott also turned. What he didn't expect was receiving a Double Slap from the chinchilla with her tail. The first attack was in the face and it was to stop him, it hurt so much, but the second blow was on the body, stronger and sent the otter flying. He crashed full in the face against a pillar at the edge of the cruise, he almost fell to the sea by little. The crash was such that he dropped the flowers and the scalchop stuck with adhesive tape got broken in two again. She knocked him out, as Cincinno left the place where he was.

After recovering from the blows, Oshawott returned to be awake. The first thing that he noticed was he didn't have the bouquet in his paw. He looked everywhere but he didn't find it. Afterwards, he looked down, to the sea, it was there where he found the flowers, floating on the water. Oshawott wanted to search for it, but he didn't know how to get up to the cruise again. He couldn't risk his life for some flowers. He felt sad by seeing those flowers to his love floating in the ocean, going far and far away to the horizon. That made him remember about Cinccino, he wanted to declare his love by her giving the flowers. He saw the opposite side, but she was gone from there, possibly, very far away from him. The water type felt sadder by that. His sadness was even heavier when he saw his valuable scalchop broken in two again. The blow made unstuck the adhesive tapes that united them. He tried to stick them again, however, they didn't stick no matter how many times he did. Oshawott's situation in that moment was desolate. Now he was far from his trainers, with his scalchop broken again, and on top of that, he was rejected by another female for the second time in the day. The depression invaded him completely again. It was really the worst day that Oshawott had lived until that moment.

The otter wanted to come back where his trainer was, but he was very sad to do so. He decided to be sit looking the sun fall in the ocean until the sadness passed. Minutes later, from nowhere, a Pokémon came. It was one of Ash and company's Pokémon, he didn't know how that Pokémon was able to find Oshawott after running through the whole cruise to declare his love to Cinccino. It might that it had followed him in secret. That Pokémon sit next to the sad otter and comforted him. It was strange to see that being in that way, but it was his partner after all, even a friend. They were alone seeing together the sunset as Oshawott tried to get rid of his deep sadness.

After many minutes, that Pokémon that comforted him said that it was time to return with Ash and the others. Oshawott accepted the idea. He walked downcast while the other Pokémon put an arm behind his head. After going around until they reached the other side of the cruise, the two returned with Ash, Iris and Cilan. The young man with hat saw the water type Pokémon being sad again, as if he was rejected by another female, this time by Cinccino. Where had Oshawott's happiness gone? He was happy a while ago chasing desperately his new girlfriend. Now he was more depressed than when Osharina rejected him. It was getting late. There was not much to do, Ash just returned him to his Poké Ball and hoped that his sadness passed over time. He wished that he returned to be happy as before.
