CHAPTER 14: Rivalry and jealousy

Ash, Iris, and Cilan, together with the champion of the Sinnoh Region Cynthia, arrived to the port and took a flight with destiny to Undella Town, where a nice surprise would await them. After touching the ground, they went towards the Cynthia's vacation home by car, driven by the champion's butler, Jervis. During the trip, Ash and company could see many types of Pokémon that the young man with hat had seen in his previous adventures, other region Pokémon in Eastern Unova. When they were going to the vacation home, they had another nice surprise, Meloetta was with them in the vehicle, she showed herself and everybody was surprised by her presence. It seemed that the Melody Pokémon entered the plane without they noticed and she traveled with them. It seems that Meloetta was quite fond with Ash, according to Cynthia, but all of them continued with their trip to the champion's vacation home.

Once they get there, when Jervis opened the door of the house, Meloetta disappeared suddenly, she possibly was very shy to show herself to other people. Ash entered first and he surprisingly met with his Sinnoh's travel friend: Dawn, together with her faithful Pokémon partner Piplup. The two were happy to meet each other again after a long time. After everyone entered the house, they talked each other. According to Dawn, she was mainly in Unova to participate in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup, she knew all the information because Cynthia was going to participate in an exhibition match.

Afterwards, all of them went out to show their Pokémon, and they introduced themselves. It was nice and new knowing Pokémon that came from another region. Dawn took out her pals: Piplup, Quilava, Mamoswine, Buneary, Togekiss and Pachirisu. Everybody was knowing each other, but one of them, Dawn's Buneary, was shy to see so many new faces. Later, Ash's Pikachu noticed Buneary and called her to come. She, with only see him again, felt more secure. The Rabbit Pokémon raised her woolen pants and came closer, blushed, to Pikachu; she had a crush with him since the first time they met each other.

Oshawott, who was seeing Dawn's Quilava, heard some steps of someone who came towards him. He turned around and saw a Pokémon with bunny aspect, it was female and came fallen in love towards him. The Sea Otter Pokémon was delighted for what he saw, it was the first time that female Pokémon came fallen in love towards him. It was like she had fallen in love by the charm of the water type with only looking at him. It was a dream come true. Buneary got closer and closer to him, and Oshawott wanted to welcome his new girlfriend. He said in a romantic way: "Come here, sweetie. I'm Oshawott, it's nice to meet you," and other lovely and flirty things. Afterwards, the Rabbit Pokémon said to her love: "Hello, darling," and for Oshawott's surprise, she went towards Ash's Pikachu to say those words, and Pikachu greeted her cordially. The otter was completely in shock, Buneary didn't come closer in a flirty way to Oshawott, but to his partner Pikachu. The surprise was so much that even his scalchop fell to the ground.

It seems that the destiny wanted to play with Oshawott, with just seeing a female coming closer to him, he felt happy because he had found his mate, without searching and without having met previously. Darn, he was so close to get his girlfriend, but he didn't notice that she had her man.

Later, Piplup came and picked up the scalchop and put it on his head, showing himself like he was a king or something like that, but it fell down again. That made Oshawott chuckle because he found it funny. When he was going to pick up his scalchop, Pachirisu came running at great speed and kicked Oshawott's scalchop with great force, sending it far away, as if it was a ball. The kick was so strong that sent it to a considerable distance, reaching the bushes, and the otter was running desperately after his valuated object.

While Oshawott was far from the group, the Pokémon detected a strange presence of a new Pokémon, which was about Meloetta. She showed herself to Dawn, but she was still shy and didn't break away from Ash. All the Pokémon that were there got surprised by her presence, the most delighted was Dawn's Piplup, who, with only see her, fell completely in love. Meanwhile, Oshawott returned after picking up his scalchop, and saw Piplup, fallen in love, seeing Meloetta. In the inside of the otter was surprised by seeing again his lovely girl, it was a pleasure, but he didn't like at all that the penguin was seeing fallen in love with the Melody Pokémon. He was jealous, thinking that Meloetta was his girl and not Piplup's. He was angry at Piplup.

Afterwards, all the Pokémon could know Meloetta better, she was happy to know new Pokémon that were nice. She turned around to meet Dawn's Pilplup. "Hi, I'm Piplup, nice to meet you," the penguin introduced himself. Oshawott was next to him and didn't like that he was talking with her, hoarding the otter. "Hey, lemme talk to her," Oshawott said, but Piplup backed him a bit with his flipper, ignoring him. The Penguin Pokémon wanted that the conversation were between him and Meloetta, while he said he was a very strong and skillful Pokémon in battle. Oshawott, angry, said to him that he wanted to talk with her, but Piplup gave him a flap so he stayed away. That made the Unova starter Pokémon angrier. With much fury inside, he used Aqua Jet and took the Sinnoh starter out from there with a strong blow.

Everyone who was there got surprised by Oshawott's violent attack. He guessed that was how things would be put by hand. After receiving the strong hit, Piplup got up sore and he was angry at the otter. Dawn got closer to her Pokémon to see he was okay, and Ash said to his Oshawott to say sorry to Piplup. He had to do it, although he didn't absolutely like it. He said sorry to the penguin, but he didn't accept his apologies. That made Oshawott angry, and Piplup also was angry at him for the attack that he received. There was a very big tension between them, they would fight until the end for Meloetta's love. None of them were agreed. And so, a strong rivalry between Ash's Oshawott and Dawn's Piplup began.

After a while, Ash wanted a battle against Dawn, but Cilan wanted to fight her first to know what a coordinator can do. And so, it was done. Cilan would use his Pansage and Dawn took out Piplup with a good entrance to the battlefield. Cynthia, Ash, Iris, along with Meloetta were going to see the battle, the referee would be the butler Jervis. The friendly match began, Pansage used Bullet Seed and Piplup, ingenuously, returned back the shots using Drill Peck. The penguin showed himself proud for the good executed technique. Afterwards, Cilan said to his Pokémon to use Rock Tomb. It was going to give a direct hit, but Dawn ordered to her Pokémon to spin and use Bubble Beam. A wall was made with Bubble Beam and destroyed completely the rocks, leaving only some sparkles in the air.

And then, the much-anticipated evaluation time came, where he talked about the elegancy, power and refinement of the moves of a coordinator Pokémon. That made Dawn feel very strange. The battle continued when Cilan ordered to Pansage to use Solar Beam. To counter the attack, Piplup used Ice Beam. The moves collided, raised a little and, in the end, there was an explosion that created sparkles that were going to the ground, as if it was a small meteor shower. That made Meloetta love it a lot, and she got closer to dance happily around Piplup. It seemed that the Melody Pokémon got carried away by the penguin's elegant and gorgeous contest moves. The one who didn't like to hear that was Ash's Oshawott. He came out from his Poké Ball and he got so angry to see Piplup playing around his beloved Meloetta, but the last straw was seeing the penguin's face when seeing the otter, that face said clearly: "I'm better than you, I have the girl and you don't." That made the otter even angrier, he wanted to destroy Piplup's face so hard.

The goal to get Meloetta's heart would be very complicated for Oshawott thanks that he had competition: Piplup. He had to show her the best he had if she wanted to become the otter's mate, or eliminate the competition, any of the two options. He just hoped that everything turned out.
