CHAPTER 17: The sad goodbye

Another occasion was when Ash and Cilan were training for the Unova League with Oshawott and Pansage respectively. The otter was doing a good job defending himself with his scalchop from the Bullet Seed from the monkey Pokémon. He did it with great skill. Meloetta liked that, who was watching the battle. The water type Pokémon was very delighted and fallen in love that his love was admiring him when he fought. Since Piplup wasn't present, now Meloetta could pay more attention to Oshawott. The Sea Otter Pokémon liked that a lot. She was also charmed for him, as he moved his scalchop with grace to impress her even more. All this time he was with a blush on his face.

He didn't notice that the Melody Pokémon got in middle of the battlefield looking at Oshawott and Ash. She put herself in middle of Pansage and the Sea Otter Pokémon, and she started to sing. It was the song that allowed her to transform. Her hair turned orange and got on top of her head, and her dress became a skirt. She had transformed in her dancer form again. After touching the ground, she showed that she wanted to fight Oshawott. He got suddenly very uncomfortable. Ash thought that she transformed herself and wanted to fight because of the battle that she was seeing with Oshawott. That would help to train to the Unova League. She was very decided to fight with much energy and enthusiasm. The water type was sweating a lot. Ash ordered him to use Aqua Jet, but the otter was so nervous to fight.

'Fight against her? With the girl I love?' Oshawott thought. He didn't want to battle against the girl who he loved so much, much less in the dancer form, he didn't know if Meloetta wanted a battle or a dance with him. The water type felt very uncomfortable, he started to sweat even more. He didn't want to fight against his love. The Melody Pokémon was insisting to fight against the otter. "Come on, Oshawott!" she said with emotion. He went back and turned around, it showed that he had his eyes completely closed and a heavy blush on his face. "Come on, Oshawott, fight me!" she said in the same tone. He didn't want to fight against her. She said shaking his head: "I cannot fight against the girl I love the most!"

Iris, Axew and Pikachu were watching the embarrassing scene, and the girl said that Oshawott was too shy to fight Meloetta. Pikachu said: "Oh, Oshawott..." Ash insisted that his Pokémon had to fight if he wanted to become stronger, but Oshawott totally denied to fight her. His heart didn't allow that. The boy with hat had no other option than return him to his Poké Ball and use another Pokémon for the fight. That was the most uncomfortable and embarrassing moment for Oshawott, his love for Meloetta didn't let him to do a battle against her. He had to calm down afterwards.

That day, where Oshawott felt very embarrassed to fight Meloetta, his love, it was the most shocking day that the young otter had lived, but he didn't live it in person until the end. In middle of the training, a man appeared with a Golurk that were about to attack Ash, but Meloetta pointed out that all was a misunderstanding. The man was called Ridley and was looking for the Melody Pokémon because some villains kidnapped her a long time ago. Suddenly, the villains appeared, who were Team Rocket all this time and tried to capture Meloetta again. Ridley took care of the evil team's grunts while Ash and company ran away to the forest. It was there when they ran across with Jessie, James and Meowth, who attacked them. Iris and Cilan took care of the three while Ash escaped with Meloetta to another side of the forest.

They ran into a Persian, which was belonged to Giovanni, leader of Team Rocket. They captured the boy with hat and Meloetta and they went to the sea in helicopter. Later, they took a submarine which descended to the deeps of the ocean. They entered in a submerged temple. There, in a big room, they put Meloetta in a floating cross-shaped stone and played her song with some speakers. The ideal was that Meloetta were in that rock and sang her song, but she wouldn't sing if she was in state of fear or anger, so they recorded the song when she was with Ash and his friends. Some stairs were spread where went to a mirror over a pedestal. It was the Reveal Glass. By activate it, it would do that the undersea temple emerges from the sea. The Operation Tempest from Team Rocket's part began.

With the Reveal Glass they called the three Forces of Nature. Thundurus, Landorus and Tornadus. After that Ash's friends, who arrived with Jervis's boat, they reached the under part of the temple. Cynthia and the others, with their Pokémon, tried to stop the Legendary Pokémon. Ash and Pikachu were able to get free and went to where their friends were. Thundurus tried to attack them, but the attack was hit at Ash's Pikachu, who didn't receive a lot of damage, he just had a lot of electric energy stored in his body. They went to stop Team Rocket and save Meloetta. Ash ordered to Pikachu to use Electro Ball. The Mouse Pokémon had so much energy that the electric ball grew and grew until become immense. After throwing the attack, Meloetta was able to be released and returned save to where the heroes were. Meanwhile, Giovanni, the one who summoned the three Legendary Pokémon, was possessed by the incredible power of the glass, and ordered to destroy the whole Unova region, instead of conquer the region. Team Rocket got his boss out of the glass' power, they went off with the empty hands.

Ridley put the glass in position and ordered to Meloetta to calm the three Forces of Nature down. With her singing, she was able to tranquil the Legendary Pokémon, they three went to their dimension and the temple was sunken to the sea again. It was the end of Operation Tempest from Team Rocket and peace and order returned to the Unova Region. Now it was time that Meloetta says goodbye and goes with Ridley to a far away and secure place from the bad ambitions of the people.

"That Meloetta says goodbye and goes to her home? What? Noooooooooooooo!!!" That was Oshawott's reaction after finding out that his love had to go forever. Forever... He was crying with a great sorrow, despite Pikachu and Axew trying to cheer him up, but it was all useless. There was no other way to end this in a good way. It was the goodbye. Oshawott thought that he wouldn't see his girl anymore afterwards. It was so sad for him to know that he couldn't be with Meloetta anymore. He got sorrowful. Ridley thanked the trainers who saved Meloetta saying: "Because all you've done, we can now go back home and live in peace. Thanks." Those words made the poor otter even more devastated, giving a heartbreaking cry that showed his extreme sorrow, he cried very hard. That sorrow was deep like the temple that was sunk in the ocean. He cried a sea of tears while he whined very hard. It was very sad.

After saying goodbye to the heroes, and Meloetta said goodbye to Ash. She, together with Ridley fled to their home over Golurk. There she goes, moving away through the horizon more and more, seeing them smaller. Meanwhile, Oshawott saw his beloved Meloetta moving away in the sky, whining really hard. There she goes, Oshawott's love that he had madly fallen in love. He wouldn't see her ever again in his life. The only thing he had was his valuable memories with her. That time when he saw Meloetta for the first time was a love at first sight, he remembered how he took care of her on the way as she was injured, and later she was gone without a trace. The otter thought it was a short romance, but he never thought to meet again the girl that he loved the most. All was a big problem knowing that Piplup also was in love with Meloetta. The Unovan Pokémon did his best as he could so he didn't steal his girl. He fought several enemies and leaned a new move. All was in Oshawott's advantage when the penguin went away with his trainer to other region, he thought that, since Piplup wasn't present, the otter had Meloetta just for him. Nobody was going to steal her again.

He remembered that time when he saw her other form, her dancer form that protected him from some wild Onix. That form was the most beautiful thing that he had seen, his girl in the most beautiful form that he could imagine. He remembered that time when she wanted to fight against Oshawott, and he denied to do it. Oshawott couldn't hurt the being who loved the most. It was the most embarrassing thing that otter had lived. Despite that, he still wanted to be on Meloetta's side for all life; however, the destiny was so cruel with him. Meloetta now was just a memory to appreciate.

After Meloetta departure, Oshawott fell into a really heavy state of sadness. None of his partners could cheer him up somehow. He was very depressed to train for the Unova League. Everyone, including his human companions, was very worried and doubtful that the otter would get out of depression. Sometimes, he left the place to cry silently alone. He still remembered his lovely Meloetta and those beautiful moments that they share together. There wasn't another way to recover that young spirit that he had. Everything changed when one of his partners came to cheer him up. That Pokémon said some words of encouragement so motivational that made cheer Oshawott up completely. He wasn't sad anymore. Now he could fight. He had one objective now, win the Unova League, and he would do everything possible to achieve it.
