Forbidden Things

Why did God always have to forbid all the amazing things he made?

For example, Adam and Eve couldn't eat the apple right? After they failed to listen, consequences came into the picture.

Why does he forbid me from having true love with the one person that made me happy?

Why did he forbid Johnny Cade from being protected and safe? What will the consequences be and will they be towards Johnny or the actual criminals?

1 Month Later:

A lot has happened in the past month without Johnny. We tried to go visit him at the hospital, but he's in such critical condition that nobody except the doctors are allowed to see him. It had seemed like my whole world was crumbling right in front of me.

Ollie recently dumped Dally due to their differences, and she broke it off due to the way he was 'coping' with Johnny's injuries. He got sent to jail for a couple weeks, drinking constantly, and trying to start a fight with someone to take his rage out on. Since the break up, he's apparently back to his playboy self and hooking up with random sluts down at the bar. Sure it hurts, but I know he's hurting more inside than what we see.

Cops have told us they have no lead yet, but they're going to keep searching for the sake of Johnny's life. Finally, the cops are helping us.

Pony goes to school still but without a smile on his face. Soda's happy energetic self has faded to a fake, forced type of smile. Two and Steve stopped drinking for a while, and Darry has been working his butt off to distract himself from the harsh realities.

As for me, life has been a little harder without having one of my close friends with me during the day, but I try to enlighten everyone's day by persevering and being optimistic. But under the surface, my life is a total train wreck. I haven't been eating lately, lack of sleep, and constant nightmares.

The only good news is that I got accepted into all of the colleges I applied to, but nobody knows yet, and I am saving the good news for a special day.

Later that night:

I was doing my homework  on my desk when something hit my window. I assume it was the wind so I didn't bother, but when it banged a second time my curiosity got the best of me. I approached my window and saw Dally throwing pebble at my window.

"Dal?" I questioned. We weren't exactly on the greatest terms right now, and we haven't spoken to each other after he hugged me while I was crying.

"Isa, come with me I'm gonna go see Johnny now," he whisper shouted and gestured his hands to leave the house.

"Oh- ok," I changed into comfy appropriate clothes and followed Dally to his car.

The drive was silent the whole time and the only thing audible was the rain slowly falling on the car.

We pulled up to the hospital about 10 minutes later and went to the front desk.

"How can I help you?" A lady asked.

"We're here to see Johnny Cade," he said urgently.

"I'm sorry they're not allowing any visitors at the moment."

"Well um- see here this is my wife and we adopted him together," he stuttered wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"Excuse me?" she questioned and also asked myself.

"Johnny is my adopted son, I am 18 years old," he lied. Was this lady actually believing this?

"Um- ok, since you guys are technically family, I guess you can visit?" she gave us his room information and confusedly looked at us.

"Thanks," Dally ushered the both of us there quickly until we were out of her sight.

"Phew," he said.

"How did she fall for that?" I asked.

"No idea," he chuckled, "c'mon let's go see Johnny man."

We got to the room and my breath hitched again. He was connected to so many tubes, and his whole torso was wrapped in gauges. He had a black eye on his left side, and he had a huge gash on his right cheek.

"Oh Johnny," I rushed to his side and held his hand in mine. I studied his features as tears slowly fell from my eyes.

"God man," Dally looked up as he prevented tears to fall, and he made his way towards us.

"I promise Johnny I'm gonna find these bitches who did this to you and make them regret it," he said through his teeth.

A doctor came to the door and asked us to leave since they had to run more tests. We obliged and started making our way to the door.
