Me and David were on a time crunch. We had to be at the hospital in an hour since everyone from his family seemed to be rushing to see Dahlia. We were just waiting on my brother Gael to watch Diana. "Elena he's here!" I heard David yell. I ran to the front door and opened it, "What no hug?" I asked sarcastically waving at Gael. "ewww." He shook his head. "ah fine. Come on amor lets go." I said grabbing David's hand after grabbing my coat- "Take good care of Diana we'll be back in two hours." He nodded and checked his watch, "got it." David smiled at me and we walked out the door and into the car.
-at the hospital-
I hate hate hate hospitals. Sooo bad. So gloomy and I only felt happy once in there, obviously when Diana was born. But its a different feeling seeing someone you love hurt. I looked over at David and he looked pale and scared like me. I grabbed his hand "It's going to be alright my love. She's fine." He sniffled and shuddered- "Yeah." The elevator rang and the doors opened to that ugly hallway. With those paintings of happy people to taunt you. We got our tags and a nurse opened the door to Dahlia's room. "Hey!" David said smiling walking closer to her bed, she grinned. "Hi you two!" I gave her a bit of a small hug. "don't cry. Please don't." She whispered looking at David who covered his face, "I'm not.. It's just you could've died Dahl." , "But I didn't.." She replied proudly. I chuckled, "The scars all over you're face tell me you saw the light." David scoffed, "Well it looks cool." I muttered. "It does right?" Dahlia said siding with me. David looked at me unserious- "Diana hasn't asked about me right?" She asked with concern, "A little bit, but we managed to get away from it." He replied. I nodded, "Yeah but she's excited to see you again. what did the doctor say?", "Just a week.." She muttered with happiness.22
Her and David talked about how they would spend the day once she was discharged and I watched while occasionally butting in. I liked seeing how well David could get along with his siblings. I do too but not enough to plan an outing with them. Once they finished me and David went back home to let Dahlia's boyfriend visit her.
-at Elena and David's house-
"Baby were home!" I yell coming in. Diana popped out from the couch and ran over to me and David- "Hi mama and papa!" we both smile, "Hi cutie." , "Hey welcome back, she alright?" Gael asked walking over behind Di. I nodded to Gael and David walked away with Diana, "Yep. Do you plan to stay long?" I ask him, "Nope. Just texted Oscar I'm coming home in a few." I giggled and pulled Gael into a forced hug- "ahh, don't you miss you're little sister?" He smiled and patted my back "Only a bit." we both let go and I pushed him towards the door, "Now get out." I pointed at the door and Gael opens it and grabs his coat- "Bye Diana! Bye David!" A faint bye is heard from them both from the living room and we waved at each other one last time before he closed the door and left.
I stretched and took a huge sigh of relief- "okay then.." I walked over towards where Diana and David were and saw David sat down on a tiny chair getting his hair tugged by Diana. I smiled, "Aww you're making daddy a little princess?" Diana nodded and smiled. "yeah!" He shook his head and scoffed, "are you alright?" He asked pointing at my leg that was limping a bit, "Ill just use the massage gun. It's alright." He smiled proudly and laughed. "yeah I bet" he responded as I fixed the tiara. I slapped his thigh- "Baby wanna go to dinner tonight? Me and you?" He looked up and gave an awkward look, "probably cant. Jacob wants to watch the game tonight." I raised an eyebrow "Oh really? Where?" , "Uhh he said our place if its okay with you." I dropped my head and sighed - "so that's a no..?" He said, I shrugged " Well, I mean, just don't be too loud." He nodded. Diana giggled and I kissed David's cheek- "Well have fun then."
A few hours later David had left to pick up Jacob to bring him over while Elena was putting Diana to bed. She closed the door to Diana's room and walked over to the living room to go watch TV. She went on her phone, "huh?" A text from Maya popped up saying "omw". She looked around anxiously and raced to the front door and looked through the big windows opening the shade. "she's bluffing for sure.." Elena whispered walking carefully to the kitchen this time to get a snack. Her watch rang. She took a peek and Maya was calling.."Oh..my.." She tapped the green button and pulled out her phone to lay it on the counter knowing now she was not bluffing: "Hello?" Maya said through the line "Hey what's up?"
"i'm outside" She said fastly hanging up. Elena's eyes widened and she looked out again to see Maya on her motorcycle. She ran to the door and hurried Maya to get in- "are you insane?! Driving in the snow?" She went onto her tippy-toes and brushed the snow out of her hair. "Wipe you're shoes and come into the kitchen, you want anything?" , "waters fine." Maya replied.
Elena opened the fridge and grabbed two waters and set them on the island, "So.." Maya walked in, "what are you doing in my home?" The Blonde sat down infront of Elena. "Just came to ask if everything was alright since you looked worried yesterday at breakfast." She exhaled, "Well Uhm- David's sister got into a accident." Maya's eyes widened- "Oh I'm so sorry." They both slowly nodded. "But she's doing great!" Elena explained slamming the table, "Okay-" She sat down next to Maya, "So what else are ya here for?" , "Oh just to give an apology when you're actually listening." Elena smiled, "aww that's so sweet!" Maya clicked her tongue, "Yeah I even got apology flowers in my trunk." The curly head blushed- "now that's cute." They both went silent before Maya stood up, "I think i'll just go. You seem like you were just about to go to bed" Elena shook her head and walked Maya to the front door, "dah, I just put Diana to bed and I'm waiting for David to come back."
Maya bent her legs a little bit and got close to Elena's face- "You're legs okay?" She asked. Elena got red, "Huh?" She knew she was talking about the limp. "You're limping a bit." Maya smirked and stood back up, "Okay now.." Elena chuckled. "Memories you know?" Maya whispered sighing. "yeah." She agreed. "memories."
