*doorbell rings*

Krystal opened the door. It wasn't the first time Diana came to her house. So she was quite accustomed to the house.

“Did you have breakfast?” Diana asked.
“Yes, just finished.. did you?” Krystal replied.
“yeah”
“Any particular work today?” Diana eagerly asked.
“Nothing in particular, just assignment and all”
“Get ready then”
“HUH??” a total clueless face appeared on Krystal.
Diana repeated the same thing.
“Hurry up Kris” she pushed her to the room to get changed.

After sometime Krystal emerged from the room, a vision of effortless elegance in a simple white tee and distressed denim. The subtle sparkle of her earrings was the perfect finishing touch, leaving Diana awestruck and speechless. For what felt like an eternity, Diana's gaze was locked on Krystal's radiant face, her heart skipping beats like a lovesick teenager. She didn’t realise that her best friend could look so ethereal effortlessly.

“Where are we even going?” Krystal asked

“You'll see..”Diana replied, her shrug casual, but her eyes betraying a secret excitement.

Krystal raised an eyebrow. “You're enjoying this, aren't you? Keeping me in suspense?”

Diana grinned mischievously.
“Maybe a little.”

Krystal was in doubt for a whole hour and as they turned a corner, Krystal's eyes widened in surprise.
“The beach? You brought me to the beach?”

Diana nodded. The sparkle on her eyes made Diana successful on the mission she was up from yesterday.

“I thought you needed a break to refresh your mind”
“I surely needed one.. thank you so much Dee”
“Wasn't that too formal?” Diana walked towards Krystal
“No but seriously”
“Who am I to you? Huh?” saying that Diana playfully pushed Krystal into the water.
“DEEEEEEEE” Krystal screamed.
“I’M ALL SOAKED”
Diana giggled at how Krystal was screaming. Seeing that Krystal understood it was all planned and she pulled Diana into the water.
Together, they spent the afternoon soaking up the sun, building sandcastles, and sharing stories.
As they walked along the shore, Krystal turned to Diana with a grateful smile. “Thanks for today, Dee. This has been the perfect day.”
“I’m glad you liked it,” Diana replied with a smile.
“Do you feel better now?”
“mm yeah.. a lot better”
“Glad to hear that”
“Thanks again for understanding me”
“I’m always willing to,” Diana replied. “You might not be comfortable right now to share what you are going through, but when you want to vent out anything, I'm all ears”
“You have me” Diana held her hand.
“Same for you too”

Diana was happy and tired at the same time. Coming back home she remembered all her pending assignments and work that she must do by that night.

| Krystal to Diana |

Krystal: Did you reach home?

Diana : yeah almost..

Krystal: Thank you for making a dull Sunday , the most memorable one.

Diana: It's fine.. no need to do this formality..

Krystal: Will you be my best friend?

Diana : Are you proposing to me?

Krystal: Not really, but I wanna make sure if you consider me that same.I don't wanna get hurt again.

Diana: You have already become my best friend.. so no doubt I am accepting your proposal..lol

Krystal: Okay yeah.. lol

Diana: You had a tiring day.. take a rest..

Krystal: Same to you too..

Diana: Goodnight

Krystal: goodnight
               I love you , as a friend

(Diana laughed at the text. “ As a friend” was a clear clue that Krystal didn't want any misconception. Though Diana never really thought of that “concept”. But she played along.)

Diana: Love you too, as a friend.
